LB, sounds like you need more 2o2phalo people on your friends list, most nights theres about 15-20 people playing H4 and were always looking for 1 more person to be that 4th 5th 6th or 8th guy. Shoot me a FR if you want. Theres no need to be playing with a team full of randoms, thats just brutal.

Customs would be great if they had a search function (filter via maps, guns, gametype, etc).  They'll never implement it though because it would lower MM numbers.

Well, 343i is doing it once again.  Trust us.

I'm done giving them any money.  If H5 comes out and they release it, I will rent it so they don't get revenue.  JUST to play campaign.

Or, better yet, it might just be past time to write off the franchise.  With the downward Trend that Bungie started on, I'm also not sure why folks are that interested in Bungie's next offering.  Nostalgia is strong, I suppose.

If Halo only existed for campaign, I'd buy it. That's not all that I want though, as evidenced by my weekly activities. I am certainly disappointed in some of Halo 4.

Even the biggest complainers of how 343i has handled multiplayer continue to say how well Campaign and Spartan Ops have been done.

With so much potential for upcoming change on the console front, Halo 5 and huge sales for Halo 4, 343i is going to get another kick at the cat.

This could be the first year of Halo being an annual release. We'll find out at E3 probably. I'll welcome it but I know some of you think this would be too COD-ish and would never buy Halo again. So what? COD is on the MLG circuit and Halo isn't. Annual releases of COD games hasn't hurt their franchise. Why would it hurt Halo anymore than the current pain Halo is already going through?

There is pretty good evidence 343i can do annual releases through the success of Spartan Ops. Potential to produce product quickly is there.

And yet there is no theater for these which would be a great way to publicize that.  Oh well. I still enjoy playing the game.  Ranting about 343 and their failures is so depressing that I have decided to stop.  Obviously 343 doesn't listen to the community anyway.  Anyone need a player or help with the campaign, SOPS or MM, please hit me up.

It is a huge-ish loss for me. 343i really fucked that up. Because of their fuck up I may call upon your services. :)

I want to make a promo video for my map and I was hoping to hit on you for it to be captured. You can say no via PM, to not embarrass me. ;)

Bungie took some pretty hard hits for not listening in it's day too. 343i gets to inherit all of the Bungie baggage plus their own shortfalls. I'm quite angry at both companies right now and I am definitely a wait and see guy for Destiny.

Call Of Duty is a crappy game, though.  FPS easy mode.  Although it does take some skill to play the game, it's not what I like, enjoy, or want to play.

Crappy is your opinion. COD lovers probably don't see it that way and their path seems more successful than ours apparently.

You'll have to decided what franshise, if any, that you want to support by playing the game. For me the choice is Halo. COD looks like fun but I'm more of a Sci-Fi guy and I don't really like shooting human faces.

Of course they don't.  You're choosing to define success in sales.  Both titles will sell a ton, but only one will be the better game (objectively speaking).

They're all pixels to me.  Halo's a better game, to me, so that's why I play it.

Continued disappointing news and excuses for them not having their shit together!   Im not sadistic and do actually enjoy playing the game most of the time.

But it seems 343 continuesnot listening to its core base.  I phased out gaming during Halo 3 having 2 small kids and already sleep deprived so barely played until reach but it sounds like that MM system was very solid and had a huge following. If 343 is not chossing to have things from the past because it was Bungie just for that reason is stupid!  The CSR was already set up and good it sounds like!

One positive the lag issue for me has seemed to get better since Dec, but the "matchmaking"  I really question.  I seem only to get a small portion of games that are competitively matched.  I either feel I am playing against thumb amputees (very little challenge, I will stay a bit to try to improve k/d like a whore) or more often play against people who usally roll together or get the team concept while I have 2 guys on my team that shoot their own team mates stand in the corner licking the wall, just joyriding on the Mongoose, to name a few and get our team gets crushed basically playing 2 v 4 or 1 v4 game!

Is the "new" skill system even if it doesnt show in game going to be used to make better matchmaking?

They really do need to give options for game search,  Do you use a headset?  join in progress Y or N,  Do you care if the host is from Bulgaria using dial up? Do you play nice with others or are you a dickhead  etc

Like I said, I like the game and am almost addictied to inproving my MM competitive game skills but some of these problems and 343s lack of urgency or their arrogance of not giving a fuck to make MM and the game better have lessened some of my play time.

I think I need to find some folks who like MM games versus custom or spartan ops and play with more coordination versus randoms it may improve my satisfaction too!  Anyone who plays MM mostly and likes Slayer (not the band), BTB (or more aptly named who can drive better and get power weapons first), SWAT, Team Regicide, I would play more Dominion and CTF with some communicating teammates hit me up with a friend request I play most nights 8:30 to 10:30.  And random times on weekends.  Sometimes on weekends my 11 yo plays Halo with me and the language is PG 13 from NC 17 when hes playing.

LBSUTKE and a few others want MM partners.

CSR will not likely ever get used for MM.  It's a statistical number that can be exploited. True-Skill is the system 343i has to use by MS mandate like all other XBLive games. Implimentation can vary but I expect True-Skill to be the dominant factor for Halo MM.

I don't think that's even the reason, honestly.  More folks will stick into unranked.  If that ranked number is hidden from view, or you have to jump through a hoop to see it, folks don't necessarily know they suck, or they don't have that anxiety of hopping into a ranked playlist.  They can know they're paired up with people of similar rank, but don't know that their rank is "terrible", and don't have to be told that.  That, I believe, is probably the correct answer.

Looks like my guess may be way off and CSR is actually going to be used for matching in this playlist. I find the answer a little difficult to parse.

Yes it will. And no, it won't entirely but it is a perfect example of not ignoring good in the pursuit of (impossible) perfect.

this doesn't mean CSR isn't tied heavily to True-Skill.

Or, to say it another way, TrueSkill is tied to CSR.
