Forza 6 Showcase Endurance Races

I completed the Sebring 300 event this afternoon.  It's 82 laps of wet weather racing at Sebring.  If you haven't raced it yet, here's some quick notes from my race that may help you.

You choose one of the following cars.

  • Audi R18
  • Audi R15
  • Peugeot 908

It's a multi-class race of 5 LMP and 19 GT cars.

Flat out the Audi can run a little over 10 laps on a tank of fuel. I would run in and around 1:57's-1:58's.  The AI was able to run 15 laps in the Peugeot.  I haven't driven the 908 so I don't know if it really is that much better on fuel or if the game it deciding when the AI pits.

Tires were roughly 17% used on the fronts and 14% used on the rears after 10 laps so I never had to worry about using up my tires.

AI likes to slide off the track after running through the huge puddle at turn 9 exiting the Fangio Chicane.

To maximize my payout I equipped the Driver Mastery and Windfall mods for 100% XP and Earnings bonuses.

The race took 2 hours and 46 minutes but I made 3,109,450 in credits and prize cars.  I think it's going to be a while before I do another showcase endurance race.

The other showcase endurance races are a lot shorter. Most are about 1-1.5 hours. I promised my girlfriend to visit some stores with her yesterday and started this dreadful race. Needless to say, she was angry because it took so long, but after 2 hours I did not have the guts to pause the race.

Unlike you, I sucked so much because of the rain. My driving lines are off, the car feels like ice skating and mistake after mistake kills my lap times. Well, lots to learn :p

Hmm, may have to do that one soon.  I am sitting on over 24 million in credits and so I don't need the $$$.

Nice video Shaggy.  I think I wet my pants.  Looks like fun (and a grind) but it's the variety that makes any game fun.

Well done Shaggy - not sure I can drive at those speeds for that long using a controller; I'm probably skipping all the endurance races laugh

Have the ONE and am enjoying FM6 so far.  I'll get used to the physics and when time allows I will attempt some of these in the future.

Highly recommend you grab a couple tunes, the cars handling untuned can be a real rough ride.

This comment didn't sink in when I first read it because I hadn't run any of the enduros yet.  While I was on lap 15 or so in the 300 miles of Daytona I thought about it again.  After the race I went back to the start and the game doesn't allow you to tune your car beforehand.  Just the mods.  Even if you own the car you only get to choose what they give you and drive it with their "stock" tuning I guess.  Daytona took about 2:15.00.000.  Then I jumped into my 908 without the mods and ran 5 laps around to get 2nd on the LB's amongst my friends.  Most of them are in the Riley DLC car.  But I'll take what I can get.

4 of 9 done.  Indy, SPA, Lemans (again) and now Daytona.  I know Sebring is lurking out there for me. I just have to block out some time.

This is starting to get aggravating.  I think I will lock up all my ammo just to be safe.  http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn10_postst56372_Who-s-Bright-Idea-Was-This-v--2-0.aspx

Yeah, that'd Tee me off I suppose. Especially after asking and then ignoring, especially that part...

On the upside, the new Ford Riley's supposedly better now? laugh

I haven't bought the season pass so it's not avail. And I've learned to let it go and now I'm back to PC's for a while.  I'm gonna run my own lobby at night with a 5 MIN warmup.  Why run a 30 min warmup for a 5 lap race?  Just get me in the frigging car and lets go.
