Depending on why you want them (ghost? Grimoire card?), private matches will get you there. Otherwise First Light is one of the few huge maps that shows up in combined warfare (but that's a rare event). I think I also saw it pop up in one of the classic playlists once.

Thanks! I figured the companion app would only show Grimoire I had access to. I got the First LIght card last night, loading in a private match at Kals suggestion. I thought I had tried that before and it didn't work.
I saw that they are giving those out to everyone now too.
So... the spinmetal issue may not be an issue anymore. Green engrams now automatically dismantle into parts, but do not give planetary materials anymore, nor glimmer. So no more farming the plaguelands or the raid for glimmer/spinmetal.
I have to say SRL is perhaps the best way to increase Light level we've seen in Destiny. You can complete a race in about 5-6 minutes - including loading - and get a drop for almost any gear slot. The only thing I have not received, or seen drop, is an artifact - all other slots are dropping max Light loot. Let me know if you've seen an artifact drop.
Primary, Secondary, Heavy, Ghost, Helm, Gloves, Chest, Boots, Class Item - all are dropping up to 400 Light in SRL.
I think at this point, my racing gear is better than my raid gear...lol
So, even if you don't like to race, it's still worth it to run the races for the post-game loot. Also, you can use 3oC each race too!
I only ran it once last night. Kept blowing myself up with my timebreaker, love that sparrow, but I get a little carried away with the boost. I may have to go with a less "fun" sparrow. Amanda was so unimpressed with my racing skills that she felt that I didn't even deserve a mote of light.
Did you happen to get a "RavenSteel" sparrow from IB? I found that it has slightly more boost than other 160 sparrows and it doesn't explode from overboost: well it will if you run it into a barrier
I'm guessing that is an older IB drop? It doesn't show up in the kiosk as an option for me to get. I've been using my trusty sr-1 swiftriver. It does pretty well.
And for those working on the 2nd class of the quest... being in last place is ok, in fact its probably the best place to be. Those gates are super wide and much easier to hit. Plus experience has show us that the person in last place often gets the better rewards. :)

I've been quite happy with the loot drops in this event. So many new shaders to be had. I have only gotten 1 of the map specific emblems to drop though. Otherwise I've had a lot of 400 weapons and armor drop.
No luck with getting an icebreaker yet though. And no one I've asked so far has had it drop either. Anyone here gotten it yet? I have seen the new void thunderlord gun. Its pretty nifty. I got the quest line for it last night, so will be working on that this week.

Oh, just remembered I wanted to post this. I've noticed a major improvement in the skeleton key drops. I had a total of 6 between 2 different characters last night. I rarely ever found one before the last update. And... even more odd, I had 2 drop in the same strike.... Shhh. I probably shouldn't post that publicly, but we were running just a normal Siva Crisis strike and I ran across one, went to pick up the blues, and found another. I was super excited.
Agree about the skeleton key drops. I have gotten a couple in the last week. Also, as Deep pointed out to me you can go into the NF, stay in the public area and do the various daily Siva strike bounties. Primary, explosion, melee, etc. can be done there. Good way to get them solo.

In adversity, we sometimes have to stop and look at the positive side of things. Our son-in-law and 3 of our grandkids were involved in a roll-over accident today but all are okay!!! They were re-ended while stopped on the side of the road by someone doing around 50-55 miles per hour. Kids were taken to one hospital and the dad to another one. We drove up to be with the kids and met our daughter there. Then we all drove over to the other hospital to see our son-in-law. Kids handled the whole situation better than most adults would. One grandson worked with responders to clear road way and answer questions while the other assessed injuries and helped their younger sister through her trauma. Outstanding kids! Couldn't be prouder of all three.
The only reason any of them are alive is they were wearing their seatbelts!! Please, BUCKLE UP!!!!

Wow, that was really scary! Very close call. I'm glad the outcome isn't too bad. As parents, we all get to worry more than enough without bad luck like that happening.

The Abbados (solar) seems to kick worse than the Thunderlord. I don't know why it feels that way.
No IceBreaker here, but have all 3 flavors of Thunderlord. Have not tried them out yet though.

If you only visit Xur each week to buy Three of Coins, note that Xur is currently selling heavy ammo synths instead of 3oCs.
Seems to be a screwup of some sort, not known yet if this will be changed before Xur departs this weekend.
