CLUB GARAGE?

OK there just isn't a way to talk about this without sounding like a dick.....

Part of the reason for leaving the 204F Garage and joining D2NR was because the club garage was always full, and it was full of crap.

So we re-do the club and then someone uploads a whole pile of shitty cars. Unicorns I get but when a unicorn makes a Nice A600 car why share a R3 837 version of it? Or for that matter a 600+hp FWD car @ S700? And again not to sound like a dick but it's someone who I have never seen post on the forums or race with us.

If I share a car it's because it's either a series car or I've taken the time to make sure it's a darn good car.

I believe your concerns are being addressed with this latest club reorganization effort.

I'm talking about the new club garage.

It's not full like the last one, but it will be at that rate.

I've already deleted those cars from the garage. Settle down Beavis.

If, you're upfor it, I had planned on talking to you, Drivebye, & maybe Sarcasmo (if they're wiling) about keeping an eye on the club garage & make sure the whatever ends up there is either sseries related or a "known quantity" so to speak.

NJ is one of the 1st people to message me about not knowing what's going on with the consolidation. I told him he would have known what was up had he visited the forums here, but I guess he didn't take that hint. Don't worry gang, until we've sorted out the garage curators & criteria, i will keep an eye on what goes in & remove anything that doesn't look like it's been fully developed.

Just for the record, I placed two in there last night as they are both series cars for the Saturday night Lotus event which I thought we were supposed to do.  If that was wrong, let me know and I'll remove them

NO that is perfectly fine. That's what the club garage is for. Snappy threw up some C425 stuff last night too and same thing. Something that is being tested out for a possible future series.

No Ghost, series cars are fine, The stuff I took down was obiously just randomly built stuff it looked like. We also need to be sure to get any Euro series cars up in there.

If you'd like, you'd be welcome to assist as one of our curators if you'd like.

And to clarify if I have an issue with a car it's not because I don't care for the tune. Not everyone will like every tune. But a car should at least be built using common sense.

It's too bad about some of those cars he put up. They were unicorns and I only have 2-3 of them.....It would have been nice to try them out, IF they were built properly.

I remember seeing a few Unicorns that I don't have. Depends on if they can be built properly (for instance the Top Secret Supra is a POS)

I wouldn't mind trying the Skyline, the Top Secret S15, and maybe the Camaro SS.

BTW If a "series car" is a car that nobody will ever use once the series is over it would be a good idea to take them down. The Lotus cars are ones that people might grab while just running a lobby....The R3 AIX cars I added nobody will EVER use once next Thursday is over. So I'll take them down.

I'm late jumping in this thread but I was wondering the same thing. Cotter clearly stated that only series cars should be put in the new garage. Then I start seeing what seems like a bunch of randoms showing up right away. Anyways I'm on forza enough to know what series are running and I have a habit of checking the garage often so if I see anything questionable I'll bring it up to cotter. I would like to see the new garage stay clean and full of proper useable cars and such...

Would it be ok if i put a few nurburg ring cars in there?  Thy all have the track map on them so it is pretty clear what they are for.

Going forward, i recommend putting the track map of where the car is built to run on the paint of all ars that go into th club garage.  That way it is easy to see what works where.

Actually I think that is a good idea that we need to make happen.

So, anyone with track maps please send them, once we get them collected they can be put together into one large vinyl group and sent to those who are going to add a car to the garage.

If we can't come up with track maps then we need some way to identify what the car is built for.

I was thinking about Dog8mysk8's suggestion of color coding. Perhaps a couple of very small colored squares somewhere on the frame rails or rear bumper.

blue=grip build

red=speed build

green=drift

etc.

Something like that maybe. then paint designs wouldn't be restricted by having to put a big track map vinyl over the design. Bear in mind these would be very small so they wouldn't interfere with the cars design if it has one.

We also need to try to incorporate our painters work onto unpainted cars in the garage I'm thinking. Maybe have them add designs to the unpainted cars that get put up if they want. then we can add their work to the club garage car.

Yeah the color coded thing works too. And I agree with the paints too. Why have a plain car when a member here has a paint for it?

Umm, how about "Maple Valley, etc" on the rocker panel or something? Doesn't have to be a track map, just a track name? It has to be visible in the club garage selection screen on the car.

Prebuilt, I took those down once we were done that night.  That series features upwards of ten cars. And they definitely fall into the "won't be used again" category. Having drag tires on them and all.  It didn't seem right to leave them up at this early stage of reorganization.

OK so this isn't encouraged

This IS encouraged. This is a grippy car that is pretty fast. Note both a blue (grip) and red (speed) squares near the rocker area.

A grip tuned car might look like this 1 series. Note the Blue (grip) square near the rocker.

And obviously a speed car would be one with only a Red square near the rocker. In this case the square moved a little yet is still easily visible.

Honestly those squares could be much smaller and still be easily noticed from the Club Garage screen in game. Even for those with a smaller television.

I like the color coded square idea. Heck we got great painters, we could even design little club icons to designate the track type for each car.

Yeah, You can always just put the track name in text somewhere small next to the color coding if it's a track specific tune.

Perhaps series cars should also have the series name in small text somewhere also. Perhaps their own color & square too?

Is ther a code for drag tires yet? LOL

I have added for cars for something I have planned tonight. They will come down immediately after. 4 C425 drag tire cars.

No, I hink that when you start a series, you should designate a color for the square for theseries & then make sure folks know that color via the series thread. If they've read the series thread, then they should know that it has drag tires.

Let's get all this sorted out first before implementing though. Once we've decided finally on how all this will wor, I will post up a new sicky thread with new garage system info & protocols.

I've taken to putting the little 2o4f vinyl that looks lik eit's spinning it's tires on my dragtire tunes lately, keeps me straight in my own garage.
