Wow, no posts yet? Well I had a kick ass time again... Thanks guys. Special thanks to prebuilt for the walk/drive through. It helped. I was in the back but did not get lapped and had a majority of clean laps. Sorry to Countach.... I slowed to much in first turn, made him hit and spin me.... Sorry dude
Had a whole lot of fun first race got lag punted to the back came back to finish 6th. Second race hovered right at 5th and 6th. Couldn't catch the guys running 54's. Had a blast.
I have to thank my crew chief (DRIVEBYE) for the great tune from his storefront on the first race which earned my my first official victory in any scheduled event! Very easy to drive and really played a role in the win. I then switched to Prebuilts tune for the second race as I had the 5% power handicap and after a few laps getting used to the different shift points, I was running laps within a second of the first race. Again great race to everyone especially Brnt for the 2nd and 1st place finishes.
As for Max, the man is a beast. To run with full handicap and still tunning laps in the 1:55's is amazing. Well done sir!
Finally I updated the points standings. I'll post a tune on my SF by Tuesday evening if anyone is interested . (I've gotten a bit behind on some "stuff")
I do have the Hockenheim replays on my SF. Max was smoking fast all race long even with big handicaps so if you want to analyze a proper line at Hockenheim watch him in action.
I had fun last week and didn't mind getting punted, but this week I will cry foul so I can race with everyone and learn. In practice at Catalunya I ran a, crap now I can't remember but it ended in a 2. Sucks getting old. Lap was dirty.
Update: it was 202.9, I think. I only ran it once but I'm consistantly at worse 205, mostly 203's and 204's, but this is only running my ghosts so it is getting tougher to figure out where to make up time. it is also frustrating watching the ghost ahead of you thinking I can't catch this guy, but this guy is you! I have two different tunes that i use, will try to pare to one. it is okay to redo the gearing, correct? not just the final drive but all the gears.
I am enjoying playing with tuning, although it does take a little time to restart for each little adjustment. one method I use is to try something, say increase spring rates by 10 points, then try it out, then go back and decrease 20 points (10 negative from the original setting) and see how that goes. Sometimes I adjust quite a ways to really see what it is doing, or not doing.
Since I have a decent tune that works for me I am also enjoying just trying to get smoother and try to be able to keep my speed up. Sort of 'get in the zone', but it doesn't happen very often!

parcells is right. i dont really think its cheating the handicap just optimizing the gearing for the reduced power.
Low 1:55s. I had no idea lol I just thought you made a handicap car to further even the field

Had a blast. I couldn't do anything with my handicaps sadly. Lost my lead in the championship to Brnt lol.
I'll get the standings updated tonight, and I'll post the replays on my storefront for those interested.
As for the handicaps.....A high 1:54 something was as good as I could muster in group 3. That was really pushing for a good lap too.
The hanicaps stink for those with them, but the close racing more than makes up for it IMO.
