I finally got in late last night, and there was one thing that jumped out at me.  Should I be playing this on a joystick/game controller vs. the keyboard?  I kept wanting to steer with the mouse, and i my torso kept getting out of allignment.  I know I can center with C, but it seemed it would have a lot easier with a gamepad.  What does everyone else do?

I use my keyboard and mouse, they become your feet and eyes respectively....

I have been meaning to set up my gamepad for it. Think I will try next time I get in game. I know the whole keyboard/mouse thing is strange to me as well. Heck I plat MMO's with a gamepad, surely I can make mechwarrior work with one.

Using a gaming mouse for weapon groups and for targetting, and keys for everything else. FWIW, I think joystick support is incomplete at this point.

I play with an expanded button mouse and a Nostromo. I find it to be very effective. My thumbs are not quite as fast as they used to be. And with the programmable Nostromo and mouse I think the Joystick is kind of obsolete (unless you’re going for that real SIM feel). For those of us original XBOX users someone made an WIN 7 64bit driver for the old Steel Battalion controller. I have one but have not delved into the setup for the game yet. Think I might do it just to get some use out of that expensive controller I wasted my money on.

Another scheduled SWTOR night for me. I will try to pop on and run a few with the crew though.

I use a keyboard and mouse, but I have a 5 button mouse so I can program my buttons. I have my targeting, thermal vision, zoom vision, 1 and 2 weapon group on my mouse. I use my keybaord for movement, torso centering, restart override.

I use a 5-button mouse and keyboard too. Have weapon groups 1-3 and voice push to talk on it. The last time I tried to use a joystick outside of a flight sim was MW4 and it didn't work out well for me.
