NOT THE 4 BALLISTIC!

I'll post some good builds for the rest in a bit :)

Okay. First off, learn to like lasers if you're gonna do Cicadas, you'll have a much better time! I also believe you're better off with the non-pulse versions: I don't think the heat or mass tradeoff is worth it.

Given your predilection for torso-based, your favorite Cicada outside of the 3M will be the 2A: here's the build I use:

CDA-2A

5 ML: 2 in the left, 2 in the right, 1 center

TAG CT

DHS, Endo-steel

300 XL, 2 engine HS, 6 additional doubles

272/274 armor - I put 14/18/14 on the rear torsos because you're gonna get backshot when you're circling

Nice and fast... 121.5 before speed boost I think. There's a possible AMS if you feel the need... you could lose 1 ML and a few points of armor for an AMS and a ton of ammo, but I like the extra armor and damage output, and you're fast enough to disengage if you get in trouble with missiles.

As an aside, I have a fun 2B build too; don't sell it short because of the arm-mounted lasers... they're probably going to be okay for you despite your issues with arm-mounted weapons... the stubby little CDA arms are only really mobile enough to improve your aim up and down. My 2B build is very similar... I have a 325 XL  (and FF and Endo Steel along with DHS) in that one so it goes 131.6 though, and instead of the 5ML + TAG I have 4 ML + 1 SL.

For the 3M, I always liked a 300 XL, 4 SL, 1 LB-10X, but that was before the ECM. You could still run that along with the ECM if you're willing to slow down (the extra mass can be made up by taking a smaller engine), but I like the speed in CDAs. I decided to try a LL in this build... 1 LL, 2 ML, 1 SL, 300 XL. Like I said, learn to love the laser :)
