hi church. after running the Leon's with you guys on friday night i did some practicing with manual and shaved a whole second off my lap time on the Nurburg GP short circuit (i couldn't get on with clutch though). Think it helped massively when we got the the racing last night. I finished the first race 5th after starting at the back and 3rd in race two after starting 9th.
Wouldn't mind a session on clutch at some point - no rush though
Looking to pick up more speed and work on race
strategy, e.g. moving thru traffic cleanly and knowing
when to pass, defending the corners, etc.
My schedule is flexible on the weekends. How about next Saturday @ 1500 GMT?
Sounds good for me, I can certainly help you work on that.
You should be able to pick up a little bit of speed quite easily as you are very consistent on the track. The traffic thing, we'll use an AI for the basics and apply some principles for passing, the defend will be you trying to defend against me, so the principles above will get put into action :)
What track is your most troublesome and what track is your favourite?
Mugello is one of my favorites as well as my most
troublesome. I'm good through the ' s' curves and
the high speed curve, where you keep momentum
lifting and staying off of the brake, but I usually
lose a lot of time on the last turn and some of
the 90° turns where I brake too early and/or too
long.
We'll touch base on exiting a corner using throttle to steer the car, maximum track out speed. Ford RS1600
Then, we'll look at the trail braking and how to adjust the atitude of the car. Threshold braking. Nissan Skyline R34
Passing, we'll set up some passing manouvers including defending and normal. R34
Lastly, we'll bring up your skills on defending a another driver - including agressive tactics. R34.
Should be about 2 hours or so.
I'll be sending the R34 over tonight, can you just take a little time to get used to the car - enough so you feel comfortable in it. (she isn't agressive and has plenty of grip.) You don't need to go bonkers, just understand what you think are the limits :)
That sounds great Tourni. I fly home Wednesday
evening and have the rest of the week off from work,
so I will have plenty of time to practice with the R34.
Looking forward to the training session on Saturday.
@Pap - If I can learn to be half as fast as you, I would
be elated. :-)

The R34 is a dream car, you'll love it.
ANYONE can be as fast as I am. I'm "blue-collar" fast. As in I have no natural talent, and every fraction of a second I've ever got has come through reading, watching, repetition and seat time. The truly talented drivers make me look like a clown. I have no idea how they do what they do, but they do it, and what they do is impressive.
Don't believe that for a minute - you have talent, you just didn't know how to apply it. Now, you can pick up any car and race it fast :) Maybe the hotlaps aren't there all the time, but the race craft and applied racing logic is. That is the only parts that matter :)
1) Off-roading = Bad 2) Manual-transmission cars go faster than automatic ones 3) My track-side antics would not translate well into real-life scenarios
Actually, I'm picking up quite a bit. Learning curve is a bit slow, but I'm trying to comprehend it for myself rather than just repeat what I'm told. It's great that you guys have been so cool, especially with me being clearly outside of my comfort zone. Thanks! :)
I can be available pretty much anytime on the weekend for you dude. Bear in mind you are 6 hours ahead of me, so basically, anytime after1pm your time on weekends or after 9pm your time through the week. Just let me know when you'd like to have a session.
torni also does school sesions, so you can contact him if you would prefer someone on the same time schedule as you.
Hey, if any of you guys are about i think i need some help.
Been a while since on racing games but ive never been as bad as i am now. At the moment, i seem to be braking far too early or i cant make the apex, i cant seem to stop running in the back of people and i can do a quick lap (for me) which is then followed by 5 very poor ones.
Hey Pizzy, I've got a crazy Saturday ahead of me, but I can be available tomorrow if you'd like to put some laps in. I'm sure we can get you sorted & on the right path pretty quickly. Just let me know when you'd like to get together so I can plan to be on. Just remember, I'm 6 hours behind you. so it would need to be after noon-ish your time. Because I'm not getting up at the but crack of dawn for ya lol.
If anyone else can make it just turn up.
If you can Kevlar we can go throught the clutch.

Should be able to knock out a few sessions soon :)
Glad to see you back Tourni! Can I make a reservation for next weekend - Saturday (5/4) or Sunday (5/5)?
Booked :) - What time is best for you and what is it that you would like to work on?
Sounds good for me, I can certainly help you work on that.

I don't make people fast, I just tell them how to be fast :)
Mugello it will be, I'll provide a car for use :)
Right, I've worked out the training plan.

Can you make it 16:30? we've got a guy coming over to look at some decking :)
Ta :)
Later is totally fine 19:00 would be perfect :)
Things I've learned so far in Racing School:
1) Off-roading = Bad
2) Manual-transmission cars go faster than automatic ones
3) My track-side antics would not translate well into real-life scenarios

I need some session(s) in the racing school. My schedule is flexible, so I can even fit into a Euro schedule.
Just call/tex me when you wanna do a session bro. My number is posted in the op.
Could do with some schooling..........being told I brake wayyyyy to early.
