Introduce yourself with a few words here.

Feel free to drop a note in here to introduce yourself and where and what you race...

Me? well I am a member of 2O4F the premier Forza race club and Gone Broke Racing where I run rFactor and iRacing and Race2Play where I will soon be racing Race 07. You will find me either at the front after the faster racers have over cooked a corner and taken each other out or at the back if they haven't. A solid defensive driver with the occasional flash of brilliance but still looking for that extra second or two a lap to really be a contender.

I run a triple a screen set up, OmegaRacing rig and a Fanatec Elite wheel and CSP V2 pedals

Founder member of this new forum and race organizer of some of the most disorganized series ever over at 2O4F I love the hobby and like to race clean and fair.

So that me in a nutshell, I look forward to seeing new friends and old as the forum matures.

Hi, I'm Helios and like curbs!  189

Founding member and Race Steward / Admin at GoneBrokeRacing.  Team owner of GBR race team at Race2Play.

Got my start in online racing with a small group of guys on VWVortex followed shortly by the 2O4F clan here at 2O2P with Forza3.  I've been racing split screen since the days of GT1, and solo offline driving games back to Rad Racer on the NES.  Always shied away from public lobbies and the ever present Timmies.  After hooking up with a few 2O4F guys to sample rFactor, I've been hooked, and things have spiraled out of control since.

I consider myself a clean racer, strive for consistency over outright speed and seldom force passing manuevers.

Sims/Games: rFactor (PC), Race07 (PC), Forza 4 (x360), Dirt 3 (x360), GT5 (PS3)

Equipment: PS3/x360 - Fanatec GT2/CSP/Rennsport Stand;    PC - Fanatec GT3RS/CSP/Bob Earl Virtual Racing Cockpit/Thrustmaster TH8RS shifter/DSD Black Max2 button box

Hello, Jarhead here.

I started sim racing playing Indianapolis 500: The Simulation back in 1994 when I got my first computer.  There were no steering wheels back then so I used a joystick for steering.  I got my first racing wheel for the computer in 1997 and played the Papyrus games Indy Car racing 1 and 2 and all of the NASCAR games they released.  Later I played the original Need for Speed games on PC.  Back then I wasn't even interested in getting a console since I thought PC gaming was much better.

When GTA III was released for PS2, a friend of had it and let me try it.  That got me hooked.  I went out and got a PS2 and GTA III.  I still wanted to race though and found some steering wheels that were made for the PS2 and got one.  I can't remember all the racing games I played, but I know the main one was GT4.  Then my step-kids got an Xbox as a present from their father.  When Forza 1 came out I got it and found out a company named Fanatec was developing a racing wheel for the Xbox.  As soon as it was available to buy, I got it.

Then with the Xbox 360 I got Forza 2 and the Microsoft wireless racing wheel.  By this time I had quit PC gaming completely and only played on consoles.  I liked the simplicity of not having to constantly upgrade hardware and make sure all the latest drivers were installed every time a new game came out.  When Forza 3 came out, I got a Turbo S wheel from Fanatec.  It was a big step up from all the previous wheels I had.  It gave me the confidence to venture into online racing.  I soon discovered that very few people raced clean in the public lobbies and some were there just to see how many crashes they could cause.  I found a few clean racers though and made friends with them.

Then when Forza 4 came out I really wanted to get more involved in online racing, so after searching through the FM.net forums, I found the 2old4Forza clan and joined.  I have had many awesome hours of racing with that group.  They have a great group of guys at all skill levels and the racing is clean.  I was perfectly happy there until someone from GBR posted a video of a PC race on rFactor.  It just looked so much more realistic and immersive than console racing with the tire and pit strategy and night racing.  My son had just bought a new computer, so I inherited his old one which was good enough to run an old game like rFactor.

It took a lot of tinkering and setting up to get it working right which is why I gave up PC gaming in the first place, but the end result was worth it.  Now I am hooked on PC racing.  I can't even remember the last time I played Forza.  My current racing rig is an rSeat RS EVO 3 with a CSR Elite wheel, Clubsport V2 pedals, and CSR h-pattern shifter.  I use my 60 inch tv as my monitor for now.  Later this year I plan to build a new PC and a triple screen setup.  I only play rFactor for now, but when the new PC is built, I plan to get iRacing and some of the other new PC racing sims once they are out of beta testing and released as finished products.

I still use my xbox for playing shooting games like the COD and Battlefield series.  As a Marine, I need to blow shit up and do some killing now and then to keep me sane.  I also plan to get Forza Horizon when it is released.  It looks to be a fun open world driving game.  I liked the TDU games and Forza Horizon looks like it will be similar to those.

Hello, my name is Whitewolf and I'm an Alc....... What? ... wrong place... oh...sorry. I'm also addicted to rFactor. I'm a Race Steward / Admin at GoneBrokeRacing also. And a member of 2O4F. I love anything that involves racing. But I mainly play rFactor, Race07 and soon Richard Burns rally on PC. I dabble in Forza and any other race game on X-box. And can be found running laps in GT5 on PS3 at times. I'm not fast, Hell, I'm not even consistent, but I have fun, and I race clean.

Hi Im ChurchPro.

I currently race Forza 4 and rFactor.

I started my gaming racing career many years ago on the N64. The game that started it all off? F1 World Grand Prix. I must have played that game for hours and hours and hours.

Seen as I also owned a Playstation 1, I lent my friends Gran Tourism 1. Two days later I bought it. (I loved it)

After playing GT 2,3,4 Forza 1,2,and 3 ( Plus all the rest (Cloin McRae rally's, RB Rally, Sega GT) I found myself on the FM.net looking for someone whom Hyperchurch, Roguegoose & I could play against. Cotter popped his head up and he has regretted that ever since.

I also like to drive on my roof (hence why the wife bought me a  "I like to stay sideways" T-shirt for my birthday due to my driving style) and make moving BBQ's

Below is an input from my beloved wife: < she also typed this cos I would have put nag (luckily she has a GSOH)

About Church Pro

All my life I've been obsessed with computers and gaming, the wife was stupid enough to believe that would all change once we got married lol. Despite having 2 beautiful little girls under 2yrs old, I've found that this hasn't affected my gaming either (who said kids would change your life). I love my racing & the wife has admitted defeat & left me to it (she's glad has she gets full control off the remote - bring on the soaps) She is also kind enough to buy me all the racing stuff for Birthdays & Xmas. Gaming will always come 1st for Church Pro, if not there's always divorce....Only joking!

WARNING - has a tendency to spit his dummy out when he gets taken out, therefore avoid doing this at all costs unless you want to listen to him moaning at you through your X11's all night.

Hello all,

I'm KRGDark and I got my start here at 2O2P in October 2008.  JCotter13 found a lost soul looking to race online with Forza 2 and took me in at 2Old4Forza.  Since then I've been heavily involved with 2Old4Forza and the Forza franchise right through FM4 until the evil souls at Gone Broke Racing enticed me with rFactor in January of this year.

I've since retired from XBox all together, having moved my primary games to PC (I only play a few specific games) and I thoroughly enjoy racing with the Gone Broke Racing folks on rFactor.  We have our own servers hosting a number of different rFactor mods and I am also a member of the Gone Broke Racing team at Race2Play.

I consider myself a clean racer, fairly consistent, and mindful of the other drivers on the track.  I tune my own cars for the most part and happily share them out to my teammates who then trounce my ass with them.  Its fair because I've done exactly the same thing with tunes that have been shared to me.  I'm currently hosting the rFactor Enduracers mod at Gone Broke Racing which is an ALMS/LMS based mod for rFactor.

I think the 2Old2Race division here at 2O2P is a great initiative by Church and Knight and I would encourage anyone looking at this forum/thread to post up any questions you might have if you are thinking about getting involved in PC Sim Racing or if you are already a PC Sim Racer, then get involved here.

There is a wealth of knowledge shared collectively by the Gone Broke Racing crew and I'm sure there are other PC Sim Racers at 2Old2Play looking for a good place to call home.

So please feel free to get involved in this division and lets make this a great destination for resources and discussions for PC Racers!

Cheers!

Hi smokey here, i started on PS2 (online) with Toca/V8sc 2 met me mate on there and we are still best mates 8+ yrs later over that time we raced with a clan called BFG we'd do full races weekly even bathurst we would do 80laps on a friday & then 81laps on the saturday. every week we would have about 30+ people racing which meant we had 3 to 4 rooms running they would be based on qualifying who were in what room. we played V8sc2/3 till the PS3 came out then we basically went to FPS then as there was no real racing games on the PS3 every so often we'd get V8s3 out and give it a blast but graphics was a massive step back lol. then GT5 came out TBH took us about a yr to really play it but we were hooked so after about 6+yrs of having my wheel clamped to a low coffee table i decided to buy a racing rig (VR3) then i found ISRTV then found a Video of GBR season 3 Bathurst round and i was hooked built a PC bought rF1 joined GBR and am loving the guys the racing & the V8s im almost like KRG ive given up on GT5 only thing ill have PS3 for now is FPS games for me & mate and i have even got him into rF1 so i can practice with him for the GBR races.

congrats to Knight & Church for ya website fellas ill stick me nose in from time to time :)

I've been gaming since the 80's from colecovision, atari, intellivision, C64 up to today.  I was getting pretty burned out with games and having played First Peson Shooters off and on for the past 20 years I was getting bored.

I tried Starcraft 2 when it came out and loved it but I am terrible at it.  I love watching the pros and still follow that scene some what, I even went to the MLG back in November 2010 in Dallas.

My multitasking sucks big time so I watched more SC2 than i played so when I got an amazon gift card from the inlaws i decided to buy myself a logitech DFGT and Dirt 3.

I then got the demo for Race 07 and then bought Race Injection the next day and I have been steady simracing ever since.  I tried to join the guys at Gone Broke Racing since I have been following them since season 3 but I don't run Rfactor, although I did win a lifetime copy of Rfactor2 from the guys at InsideSimRacing, so Helios directed me to you guys.  Looking forward to racing with like minded people.

I am a huge Dallas Stars fan and I just got into following F1 this season.  I watched the race today at Spa and was blown away how exciting that track is.  Earlier in the week I was running Spa in the F1 cars in Race Injection and loved it.  That track is amazing.

Well that's enough rambling for now.  Catch you guys on the track soon.

Hello fellas,

Snappy Dee here. I gave been a member of 2old4Forza for about two years now. I joined after discovering Forza 3 a year after its release. Shortly thereafter I created and ran a couple of racing series with lots of help from other members. I am a Car Crazy guy who has loved cars and racing since childhood. I have been a gamer since Pong but racing games have been my greatest interest. I am not the fastest and probably never will be but I get the most satisfaction in running really clean and close races even when I am battling for a mid pack position. Looking at the names of the participants here on the PC side gets me excited for PC Sim racing.  I have great memories of battling with most of you at some point or another in Forza. I could never quite stay with you, Sherb. But it sure was fun trying.  I moved a few months back and now have a decdicated race room. I am now slowly trying to get set up for PC racing.

I am 42 years old with a 3 year old son and another boy on the way in March. My wonderful wife fully supports my sim racing and has never argued when I want to get new "equipment". I am fortunate in that regard.  I have a strong admiration for vintage sports cars. I absolutely adore them. I currently own GT Legends, rFactor 1. I will probably be picking up some more SIM racers as well. I run a FANATEC GT2 with CS pedals (V1) but TBH I did not use them much in Forza because the learning curve made me uncompetitive. So there will be some serious catching up to you guys.

I have enjoyed Forza very much. Probably my favorite Console racer ever but I am looking forward to all that PC racing has to offer because of the greater variety and realism that seems to be available.

So, I hope to join you guys soon. And, thanks to all of you who have made my Sim racing experience to date a wonderful and challenging one. Here's to more great sim racing!

As a matter of interest I am far better on PC than in Forza, I am begining to understand why. If you are useing a Fanatec CSR wheel the cars feel like they are on ice, I switched to a Joypad and found I could counter steer without the car spining with ease. Now this was not always the case, but since the latest round of updates I have been wondering what the hell had happened to my driving. In fact Church asked me exactly that the other day...So you may find it is not quite as hard as you might think. The tires have more grip and the physics make more sense. On saying that Church went through somewhat of a learning curve LOL.

Well, that's because he needs to unlearn his Forza habits.  42

What makes you fast there, gets you in trouble here.  And I love it.  28  Nothing like knowing a car "will" kill you if provoked (Group 5 DRM).

Only the last one, I don't think he'll mind me saying, at one point Church was ready to throw in the towel, eight races in a row DNF is going to knock even Church's confidence. I don't guess it helped that we took the opprtunity to rip the piss out of him LOL.

I think wheel users have an easier transition as we have a much greater range of inputs...have a look at Church driving from in car, rather than a smooth input when he corners, he almost does a series of short straight lines the view juddering, hats off to him I'm fecked if I know how he got so fast having to drive like that. 114

Depends on the mod in rF1.  I like the feel of OSRM V8FU, DRM, PMSC, Enduracers better.  But I like the feel of R07 better than some of the super sticky mods (Mustang Challenge, BMW, etc).

Kurupt has some tweaks though that are supposed to capture a bit more of the feel of rF1.  I still need to try it at some point when I get some time.  I just don't have the time to get in and tweak with stuff.  I just hop in a little before the race and drive.

Smok3y, you should join us.  Race 7 is only 2.99 on steam.  I've been using it for almost a year now with like 140 hours I it. I don't have rf1 but for $3 what do you have to lose. We need more humans in our leagues.
