Wholly fuck what an exercise in frustration this car/track combo is, grrrrr
Just did about 50 laps, maybe 20 of them clean. Managed a 50.981 when I completely blew the final turn but will be hard qualifying under 50.xxx period and I got to say I'm not looking forward to it. See you Saturday
It is a little parcells, there is a replay on my SF that gives some guidance. This really is a exercise in car control, which will be needed with the Mini v's camaro as the mini will have to fight through the turns :)
All tunes are on SF now though, final testing compelte with
First off, I would like to say a massive thank you to Tourni for all the time end effort he has put into this event, even as a novice driver I can tell from doing 15 laps in each car that the tunes are very well matched , only 10ths of seconds difference between each pairing, great job, and they look good too.
My choices:
Mini, as a front whell drive man it was always going to be, but the Camero is well matched, I just struggle with RWD
'05 Mustang, Again very close in perfromance and times posted, I just feel the more modern car is more forgiving to my driving style.
Evo, This one was hard, I loved them both, took me 20 laps of each, going from one to the other, but decided the gearing of the Evo suited my driving style more, although I love the scooby
anyway thats my choice, I know I'm not the most experienced driver, but I think my choices are made on the way I drive and the feel I get from each car.

Your welcome Shadders - I'm glad you liked them.
I picked the Camaro because i love the sound, 05 mustang for the looks and the Evo because i've always liked the car for real :D
Well, don´t know how often I´m able to join season 3, but I´ll sure try my best! So what´s first?? Qualifying with Beemer @ Infineon??
Oh and after I´ve decided what car to use, I have to stick with it all the way, no changing in the middle of the season, right??
Don´t know which one to pick yet, but the paints are done anyways:
Oh and is there official number board somewhere, or is my version ok??
Yes there is no changing the car, but dont worry about not being able to make some races. only 8 out of the 12 count with the lowest 4 points being dropped. You stand a pretty good chance of doing well :)
Hmmm, due to the huge lack of Camaro love, I may have to forgo my bias againt anything Chevy (C5/6 Corvette excluded) in the interest of diversity. Already got paints for both Mustangs, so good to go there. Don't know between the Scooby & Evo. In general I prefer the Evo, but I'll likely take whichever there are fewer of, since I don't have any time invested in paint for either car yet.
I do admit that the Chevy is much more fun than the mini, but that is mainly I do with it being r w d :). I want to bring back racing for fun in the series :)
Nice paint jobs Tourni, only real men carry carry off pink, was thinking about it for mine, but decided I'm not a real man. LOL
Got me thinking now, do I want a car that stick like glue round corners (MINI) or to have some fun, bit more of a hairy ride (CHEVY), Ohhh decision decisions
Race what you enjoy really, the mini is good but for a different reason.
You are going to have to work just as hard in either as you need to hold cornering speed with the mini where as the cameo has to do the best it can an rely on the straights.
I'm happy to work with anyone that wants to run a car out of their comfort Zone
That mustang did really pull off the pink well actually :D I will get some fun sessions set up soon :)
Not that Parcells needs to understand, I’ll just show up and race where you put me but I’m confused about the intent of qualifying? What exactly will it be used for?
The divisions have already been preset (and they certainly look right) so the best I can figure is it will determine the room you’ll be in come race days (room 1 or 2). BUT that don’t make much sense with the divisions already set because if Parcells has a bad qualifying result (very conceivable as RL commitments gives me all but one maybe 2 cracks at it) presumably I’d be in room 2 (for the entire series???) with zero chances of winning my division. Of course I could care less about winning but do want to be racing the guys I’m competitive with and this entire paragraph is pure speculation on my part so I’ll stop babbling now and allow you to respond the question at hand.

Confused
I need to qualify new people amongst you guys and a way of doing that mid series :)

Good answer Tourni, you're like one of those smart guys aren't ya? Was going to ask, "what the hell am I qualifying for then?" but you do need your baseline times don't you. Parcells will give it his best shot on Saturday, you can count on me. Maybe even give Fitzy a reason to qualify a second or third time. Or not, it don't really matter much now does it.
If there's anything I can do to help out that will garner me some extra competition points you let me know, I got it covered buddy, don't you worry!
had another quick go, put in 5 laps and pulled a 1.48.700 and slide it really badly haha :D
will not be making any races today, holiday, family, apologies...
Nothing on today :)
toldja!

@Tourni: Those tunes for Camaro and Mini in your SF, they are final tunes??
Yes, any tune on the SF is a final :)

Car choices are now available in the Sign up sheet!
Try to pick different to each other please and time to post your paints

Love the mini though :D
Hoping for more people though :)
Her are the paints I will be running
Notice the novice sticker on the back, just covering myself so if I make a complete Horlicks of it I can say, "Hey I'm just a novice" LOL
Hmm never thought of that, Red rag to a bull and all that,
maybe I will change it to, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, WIDE LOAD DO NOT PASS
"If you can read this..."
I'll write - If you can read this then i'm not going fast enough.. :D
I think I could probably use one of those.
making one for Church
...If you can read this, turn me over...
HAH!
I need this for my cars

A little tweakage and you'd have a S/F dragstrip paint there Tourni!
Your welcome to do that and sell it if you want :) let me know if you want it :)
