EUSL V3 - Scooby V Evo [Finished]

EUSL

Points Scoring.

Each event will NOT exceed these points, if an event has two rounds, then the total points awared will be divided by the number of rounds.

IE (( 64+64 )/2)

The lowest 4 points totals out of the 12 races will be dropped from a players total.   This enables a player to miss events due to other commitments but still remain competitive in the league.

Room 1

1              64

2              62

3              60

4              58

Until 0

Race Format

Qualification is done pre-event, if you are looking to take part after the event  then contact Tourni6, ChurchPro, Gizziegod.

Setup - Collisions OFF, Compare best lap YES

You will receive an invite on race day before the race start; Rooms will be open from about 7:45 onwards for a prompt 8:00 start.

Race

Number Boards are required and GT must be on the car.

Setup - Collisions ON,  No Dam, End race timer 10:00

If you have a laptop close by, then please feel free to jump into the correct rooms by yourself.  Otherwise, the host of each room will send invites out.

The race will proceed as soon as the host has everyone in that can get in. (verified by last person coming in 1 at a time off a different host)

I cannot help with room entries during the EUSL progress - I have a lot to do to make this run smoothly as possible.  I ask you all to make sure that you do your best to get others in to make this run as smoothly as possible.

Thanks! Tourni

7.3. Overtaking, according to the circumstances, may be carried out either on the right or on the left. However, manoeuvres liable to hinder other drivers, such as more than one change of direction to defend a position, deliberate crowding of a car beyond the edge of the track, brake checking, Pitting manoeuvres or any other abnormal change of direction, are strictly prohibited. Any driver who appears guilty of any of the above offences can be reported to A Race Official

7.4. Drivers must use the track at all times. For the avoidance of doubt:

(a) the white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs
are not, and;
(b) a driver will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with the track.
(c) Should a car leave the track for any reason, the driver may rejoin. However, this may only be done when it is safe to do so and without gaining any advantage.

7.5. No competing vehicle shall be driven in the reverse direction of the track

Well every event has its downside, it's near impossible to keep a certain element out. All we need now is for a Parcells to confirm his participation.wink

Parcells participation depends on the outcome of my ongoing discussions with the New Orleans Saints. You've probably heard there's a chance I could be coaching the Saints to a Super bowl victory next year. If the opportunity presents itself I wont make many of these races.

With much deliberation over the past 24 hours Parcells has decided to stay retired and not consider the Saints coaching vacancy in 2012. I'm not convinced the younger players today could handle my style of coaching and my life is in a good place right now so I'm comfortable with my decision.

Looking forward to the races.

Giddy up!

Oh you want my tunes do ya?  I thought I was the only one driving the mini, and everyone else had to chase me around laugh

I'll get those over asap.

Unfortunately Sundays are a bit of a right off for me so I'll be waiting to see the replays!

Will this be at 8.00pm GMT on Sunday?

If so I will cancel the CSL-R, but will keep the Factory racing going as its only 4 weeks long.

If there is intrest in the CSL-R I might move it to 9.00pm GMT or to another day.

How long is the CSL church? :)

I read it as being after the EUSL so running at 9.00. My mistake!

Of course novices are allowed, I need to get together with a few people to decide a smoother way of running the EUSL.  I think it got too long winded and if i'm honest, i dont think we will ever be able to get the divisions to work accurately.

So i'm thinking of getting a list of people wanting to run the EUSL, then,

Running one Qualification run over 2 weeks.  Where a room is opened with the qualification setup, car and track will not be announced until they arrive so there wont be any chance to practice. The car will be there to test skills and and room sorting will be done based on that prior to the event.   This will hopefully eliminate the cannot connect problems and enable the series to run quicker.

Not sure about grid ordering yet, maybe random but that could make mess :)

I am also thinking about runnin 2 x 15 laps for example, this will spice things up.

The Qualification will be 10 laps long though and my time will be set in the first run so i cant update it thereafter. 16 players in lobby and a choice of dates to run your qualifciation.

This may pose a problem for a new person entering the series.

Let me know your thoughts guys, i really wish i could just have a proper racing platform to make this work.  32 grid, with a qualification and consequential grid ordering! It would be nice if it kept the points for me also haha :)

CSL was to be ran at 8.00pm GMT as I did not know you had V3 lined up and was to keep Sundays going, but as you have V£ ready I could do with sitting back a bit in running events. It really takes it out of you.

Although I will keep the Sunday Night Factory Racing on over the next 4 weeks to keep Sundays ticking over smiley

I will read the rest of your post later as i am shatered and i keep reading it but it hurts my head sad

I will say no practice puts novice drivers at a huge disadvantage, We often face tracks we are completely unfamiliar with and cars that we have little or no experience with. To qualify under these conditions will not reflect the abilities of some of us newer drivers when we actually start running races with cars that we can practice for...If that is set in stone so be it, but just thought I would make that point. smiley

Very good point actually :)  I want the novice guys to get closer not the otherway around and by doing that would do quite the opposite.

So perhaps i will announce the track and car prior.

Will do mate, soon as I know myself.

Tourni if you'd like a novice view during testing I am happy to join in. Not sure what I could add other than perhaps an idea of how the cars will run in the hands of the less experienced.

We tested R3 supercars, and decided that far too much concentration was required to make them fun.

In the David vs. Goliath series I think the Mini will appeal more to the newer drivers for its ease of handling.  It will apeal to Gizzie because, well, it's a Mini laugh

In the Old vs. New series both cars will be a moderate handful for the newer guys.  They ARE Mustangs, and sometimes that Torque can be tough.

In the classic Scooby vs. Evo there should be nothing difficult to handle anywhere here.  Extremely forgiving, and stable as a mountain goat even banging into each other.  Tourni and I were swapping paint at every corner, and the cars hardly reacted to contact at all.

Funny I looked at the Mini and said "that's the car for me" LOL sounds great and I am glad you veered away from R3. Mustangs I can take or leave but I'm saying that without trying, I did learn to love the Holden...Kinda. Scooby Vs Evo should be great, close to the Touring car thing that I love.

Yeah we were racing them at The Ring, and after a few minutes of uncharacteristic silence we decided that we were concentrating way too much for this to be fun smiley

R3 race cars are a completely different animal.  Tons of downforce make them easier than A class cars to drive.  R3 supercars are not so easy to control.  The sliding was constant, and you needed to be concentrating just to keep sharp for the never ending corrections required to keep it on the road.
