This glitch only happens on PC's with unpatched versions of the game using 1 or 2 particular video cards. At least that's what Ubisoft claims.

Yeah, that's one of the downsides of huge corporations. You have little recourse because, even if they're in the wrong, all they'd have to do is drag the court case out until you run out of money. I felt the same way about Sony's rootkit fiasco back in '05.

Just looked at UBISOFTs EULA:

THIS PRODUCT IS LICENSED TO YOU, NOT SOLD. (this is my favorite part).

Product as is, not warranted for suitability for a particular use, or antything else

Disclaims all liability of any kind whatsoever

Sole remedy is to cease using the product

However doesnt disclaim fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation (mostly because you usually cant by law).

Arbitration required.

Its an oppresive EULA, but not insurmountable.  Might be fun.  Since arbitration is required, it would cost the consumer little in the way of expense, although a lot of attorney time for whatever  attorney is crazy enough to sue them.

From a legal perspective, they can print all the crap they want on the box about not being liable. Courts have ruled on the side of consumers, regardless, in instances of willful advert fraud or widespread product failure.

If the MCC can't be made to work as it was advertised for a majority of game buyers, there will likely be a class action. That said, class actions aren't necessarily good for you and me. The lawyers (fees) and the government (fines) are the winners, not consumers. The consumer payback could come in the form of better games in the future.

To be fair, I believe at least half the problem is the XB1 and dedicated servers. The combo of old code (MCC), XB1 and dedicated servers appear to be toxic. A small group was running H4 customs on the 360 last evening cuz they couldn't on the XB1. Man o man, what an outcome....

I will say that H4 seems like a new game on the XB1 in visuals and mechanics. Across the board, the visuals are great no matter what. Just wish we could game and talk together. They are killing Halo.

I just tried contacting Microsoft support to get a refund for my digital purchase. They wouldn't give me a refund but said that I should contact 343i to get them to refund me the money. I said ok and if they could be my the support line website. They gave me the halowaypoint.com website but I pointed out to them that they dont have a contact page. He said that's the link they gave support to route issues with MCC.

I give up. You win 343/Microsoft. Congratulations on getting my $60 for a game that's broken. I'll remember this come any future games by your company...

Interesting you didn't get a refund because I know for a fact a friend of mine got a refund for his digital purchase. He said he did it via chat with Microsoft, but that's all I know.

My assumption is that there are many people wanting refunds, so now Microsoft is pushing them toward 343 in an effort to wash their hands of this fiasco.

What a sad state of affairs.

how much longer do we gamers stand for unfinished products. there is no such thing as a midnight release anymore. if you get the game from the store you have to wait an hour for a download. i love the whole experience of gettign the game at midnight and being amongst the first to play.  i collect halo stuff so i wanted the in hand product. do to circumstances i didnt go that route.  i didnt want to wait an hour after getting the game. so i did the direct download to the hd. midnight comes around AND THE FUCKING GAME DOESNT WORK! so now not only do i not have a hard copy to add to my collection. i didnt get to play at midnight either. so supposedly today theY fixed the server problem and i did match up for a couple of games but, it either didnt start, takes for ever to load, didnt finish, or just froze up after the match. THE GAME STILL FUCKIING SUCKS!

so i say how hard is it to make a game work. matchmaking isnt a new concept. antone says well remember destiny ddint work right either. then it hit me. i cant rmemeber the last time  a game worked properly at release. gtav was broke. mm wasnt even available for a month. then it didnt work properly when released. titanfall ddint work. battelfield didnt work. nothing ever works anymore.

is this just some fucked up way the developers have found a way to cut production cost. release a game that isnt ready and let the consumer tell you what needs fixed. thats fucked up, and has ruined the fun of midnight releases. just charge me more money, move the release date if needed, and give me a  A FUCKING PRODUCT THAT WORKS!

I really "feel your pain".  As many in these forums know, I consider myself a cheap SOB.  I rarely pay full price for anything.  I plunked down full price for Grid Autosport and various track packs only to experience first hand the "junk" they call a game.  I'm not a techie, and couldn't do a game but sometimes wonder how they would release a game it's not finished.

As bad as the matchmaking is, I was wondering if anyone else ran into the problem of hitting the Previous Game Stats (pretty sure it's the Y) button on your first game in, and have the whole game lock up and restart. I hit it by mistake the first time, the Y button being the button that shows online friends in COD BO2...tried a few times after and it happened every time

Yeah, don't do that.  It's a known glitch and will happen every time lol.

So many people are saying Destiny was broke at launch. I remember the XBox having some issues, but I don't recall any on the Playstation side.

I agree that it's a joke that these games are not working on day 1. To many of the publishers are thinking about the $$$ and forcing the games out on X date regardless of what it's status is, then the poor developers are the ones who take most of the blame. Into most of the market quits buying games on the day of release, I don't think it will ever be fixed. This is a hard thing to do though since some of the games are so great and we can't wait to get our hands on them!

All this stuff doesn't bother me, it's the world we live, I just find it odd when people are surprised by the stuff that's been happening since the dawn of time. Also I find it really tough to complain about things I can't change or effect, it seems to be a waste of my time.

Since launch ive gotten 3-4 MM games in. Its hard to get back into the swing of things when I get in a game or two a day. This morning, I actually got 2 games in before work. H2A, and one H1. It was rad.

Why is it that games are always broke on launches? I shudder to think if this happened before the days of "game patches". It's like companies now use patches as a justification to rush a shitty game to launch because they know they can just "patch it later". Can you imagine these broken games launching on an N64 or Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo? The makers of these games would have folded and filed for bankruptcy.

Yeah, I can't even imagine Super Mario World for the SNES shipping with so many bugs, and Nintendo just being like, "Whatever. By the time the customer realizes it's unplayable, we'll already have their $50. Screw them."

If Microsoft rushed this out the door so they could sell Xbox One systems for the holidays, then that's a really, really stupid idea. That means that you're going to have a lot of people out there that spent $400 for a system + game, for something that is all but unplayable. This is the last time I buy anything from Microsoft. Assholes.

No, it'd be a really great idea for Microsoft.  Only stupid for the buyers.

I mean that it's stupid in the long run for a business. In the short term, obviously it's better to screw people over and leave the customer enraged after you take their money.

Xbox/Xbox Live/Halo are the only Microsoft products I own. Right now I'm not impressed with any of them.

It's been a rough launch to put it mildly.  I've had campaign issues that resulted in co-op partners desyncing, so that one person sees the other walking into walls, shooting wildly, or die when there was no death on the other screen.  Lots of issues in every aspect of the game.

But it's being fixed.  Not an excuse, and games should work well at launch.  I'm disappointed with the launch, but unlike SimCity and Aliens: Colonial Marines, I'm sure this game will be patched.  343 needs goodwill.

I think the online population has been crippled in MCC by this launch and won't ever recover to where it could have been.

343 messed up Reach with a title update, messed up 4's multiplayer with a CODified deviation from Halo's competitive (non-random, non-killstreak) nature, messed up MCC's launch.  They don't do player retention well.  Will this hold true for Halo 5?  Not sure.

I think telling people not to pre-order is silly.   Let reviews dictate whether you purchase at launch if you want, but don't miss out on pre-order bonuses.  Just get a pre-order refund instead of buying it.

I think asking for people to lose their jobs, probably right before Christmas, is a disgusting over reaction about a video game launch.  Bugs and problems happened.  They're working hard to fix it for us.  If you think having them go home to their families for the holidays jobless because a few extra weeks were required to sort out enterprise and game bugs, just so you can feel better about waiting to play a video game, that's your call.  I say just chill.  They're fixing it.  Be understanding.  Play games for fun.

Personally, I've enjoyed MCC when it works.  It's been fun.  It's been frustrating when it doesn't work too.  I've over 50% the achievements, and some are glitched.  I complain, but I can wait.

I'd love to see games work well on launch.  When they don't, I want to see companies work hard to make them work - just like 343 is.  At least we aren't stuck with this forever like SimCity or Aliens: CM, or other forever broken games.

In other news, I suck at Halo 2 matchmaking.  Halo 3 is still my forte.

There is a forum over at Waypoint to report problems:  https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/85d779d52cfd46918b4f8b638f2e3c....

Lot's of Timmie crying threads, but this is where to report problems.  343 can't fix problems unless they know what they are.  I have reported my campaign issues there.  Hopefully more patches will come out to make all or most facets of the game playable.  In the meantime, D______ holds my attention.

Sorry, I can't take you seriously with this hyperbole.

It's a video game, which works in some ways and doesn't work well in others.  You have not been 'robbed' and if $60 is your bar for going into poverty over a game, then you probably shouldn't be buying any games.  I've bought $60 games that I just hated, after spending the full launch price for them - and I didn't complain about them like this.  Halo will work well eventually and until then, play something else and settle down.

yeah im not really sure what your talking about with the poverty thing either and im buying a game that ive already played so im not sure what ur talking about there eithe. mmc is a remake of past titles.... annnnnyway.

the reason i bought an xbox was for halo. i went into game stop to get a ps2 and had read little bit about xbox in a magazine. but i wanted gta and even though xbox was an awsome idea for a system it didnt come out for another year and it wasnt getting gta. when i walked into gamestop to get a ps2 there was a kioske with halo. i played till the store closed and put my money on the xbox. halo and online are the only reasons im still a gamer..  im huge halo fan i buy all the legendary editions go to all midnight releases and collect anything halo

343 has been handed over the privelage of continuing the halo franchise and so far they have failed. halo 4 was not better than reach. mcc is not a new game they are remaking all the halo titles into one title to be played on xbox one. lets not forget they have now remade halo ce twice. all these games worked before. why is it so hard to reheat them in the microwave and make them work agian.

i dont play campaign. ive played all them before. campaigns bore me and i dont care about achievments either. so whats left. online, but im not waiting 10 min to play one game and then have to reset cuase the game froze or try and play with a friend only to just deal with multiple breakdowns and not even getting to play one game in an hour. maybe what you like to play works but what i like to play doesnt and what im willing to put up with seems to be farrrrrrless.

so yeah i do feel robbed and no it doesnt break me but im not into throwing away money. they used our love for halo as a chance to make money. there has never been a game that ive played that has been this brokenor aeven broken to the point it wasnt fixed in a week. if there had i would have never bought anything from that developer again. im not buying halo five! fuck 343! see if than can fucking fix that later.

Not that it's any consolation, but getting into a game has been better. I had a few minutes yesterday and actually got into 3 or 4 games in about 20 minutes.  The biggest problem was that after each game everyone got booted out of the room and had to go back in to find a new match.

If I were selling you a car, and I knew the car didn't work but hid that information from you, and then still took your money for a car that I know doesn't work, how is that not stealing?

He didn't say anything about going into povery over $60. That's irrelevant.

Not liking a game isn't the same thing as a game that doesn't function as advertised. Do you seriously not see the difference between buying a movie ticket and then deciding you didn't like the acting, and buying a movie ticket when the sound cuts out half the time and the projector is broken?
