my disbelief is your constant denial that people want to play Halo 2 as-is and will continue to play it more than 8 weeks.  lol.

Time will tell. Our positions are cast.

I really liked the updated graphics for campaign in HCE-A.  I hated the co-op execution but apparently that will be fixed.

When I look at the Halo 3 MM experience for some on my FR list, I see that they have 20K-30K matchmaking kills, and one has up to nearly 60K kills. I wonder if any will be as dedicated with MCC for as long?

PS: my DMR kills are mostly campaign and SpOps.

Yeah I can pretty much guarantee that I'm not playing MCC like I played Halo 2 and 3.

I am looking forward to it though.  It's always nice when those friends you haven't seen in a couple years pop up thanks to a new Halo title.

MGoblue...Looking at you.

You too Kung Fu Fenster and a host of other OG guys that talk a mean game about the clan getting back together and then are gone again.

I would assume it will depend on how good/bad Halo 5 is.  If 343 pulls another Halo 4 and the MCC retains all the stuff we loved from back in the day, I could see plenty of people abandoning H5 and continuing down the road with tMCC.

I think we need to address the real issue at hand. What are they doing for Grifball?

If DLC does happen to drop for H2A multiplayer, it could ruin all of my predictions. The horrors of it all.

DLC maps are becoming a big problem for me. In Reach and Halo4 you never get to play them. I've spent around $100 on those DLC maps for those to games only to play them in customs here and there. In CoD you seem to play your DLC a lot more. CoD must have a better filtering system for getting DLC.

I'm fine with playing Halo2 in its basic form. I just want to play on a good smooth connection which I rarly got a chance to do in H2.

aren't there pretty much always map pack hoppers?  Until the game is retired, and then it just puts all the maps into all the playlists and matches you with people that have the maps.

That doesn't really help all owners of DLC. If even one of your friends doesn't own the DLC then your stuck with a dilemma. Play with your friend or dump them for DLC. I choose to play with my friend and hope to entice them into getting the DLC.

I don't understand how that's 343's fault.  Do you just not want DLC?  Because you can't play WITH your friend on different maps than each other.  You need to both/all own it.  Trying to understand what solution you are suggesting.

Same here. I liked Halo 3 as well but found it frustrating online because the shot registration was so godawful. I'll be interested to see what it's like on dedicated servers where the connection is more fair.

Although I never played H3 on a LAN I've heard it's a much better experience than playing online.

always wanted to try H3 on Lan as well

It's not that different.  It's more fun because you're yelling at each other in the same room.  :)

DLC: Noun. 1. Maps that you pay extra money for but never get to play because not enough other people buy them. 2. An excuse for developers to ship an incomplete game. "Sure, we only have four good maps to play on out of the box, but don't worry, DLC!"

What a quote mess.

Shadow, I was not complaining about 343i. I was just saying DLC-only hoppers don't help much. I said why they don't help much.

I do not mind DLC. I want DLC. It's just a shame not everyone gets the DLC and there isn't a simple solution to the problem except the vendor giving DLC away for free eventually.

One partial solution is to ship the game with a good selection of good maps out of the box instead of shipping a smaller number of good maps with the excuse that Forge and DLC can make up for it.

Halo:CE: 13 maps

Halo:PC: 19 maps

Halo 2: 12 maps

Halo 3: 11 maps

Reach: 8 maps + 5 Forge maps

Halo 4: 10 real maps + a few Forge maps like Impact and Ravine

You can see the trend downward, although I'm surprised H4 had 10 maps. It feels like I get stuck playing Haven, Abandon, and Adrift over and over and over and over...
