I was sold before the beta. Now I am certain to get it.
Completely different from Halo and it's fun to play too. It won't replace Halo but I'm fairly sure we will eventually have dedicated TITANFALL nights. Just a question of time and numbers.
I thought the TrueSkill stuff was now built into the Xbox One functionality rather than the game now. I swear I read that somewhere but that sounds wrong when I think about it.
I know it's early still but I can see that matching up based on skill is less important in this game than in some others where there tends to be far more one on one action. This game is so chaotic with firing and missiles and shit flying everywhere that would it matter much? I can have a game with 12 pilot kills, 4 Titan kills, and 20 grunt kills and 2 deaths followed by a game with 2 pilot kills, 0 Titan kills, 20 bot kills, and 10 deaths. Designing an algorithm to capture that and equate it to skill seems ridiculously hard. Doing it based on wins would unfairly balance toward people who play with a regular team and punish solo players and I don't think they would want that either. Anyway, just some thoughts, but I don't see that a matchmaking system would be that necessary. Again it's early so who knows once people get shit more figured out.

Yeah, I remember it that way with TrueSkill or whatever it is they're calling it these days.
It seems like chaos because we don't yet understand the spawn system and aren't necessarily palying with full parties and developing strategies. I'd love to have some actual matchmaking instead of dumping folks into a lobby wholesale.

Yeah that's a good point. I Have to remember that while it is a FPS it is different in a lot of ways from other games so you're right in that a lot of the mayhem is just not knowing where to go or how to play quite yet other than 'if it moves shoot at it'.
I'll give the beta a go. I'm not as amped about it as the general population seems to be but I'll give it a fair shake. I'm just concerned becasue of the EA 'warning' label on the box. Things doing to fall on it's ass out of the gate becasue of that no question. Shit they're still trying to fix battlefield ! So that's by far my biggest concern, wish a better publisher picked this up.
Played over the weekend on PC. I'm sold on it. Respawn ripped off or you could say borrowed a few ideas from other games but I have to admit it's a combination I'm digging. Some great preorder prices for digital version on PC so it' s a win win for me.
Would anyone be interested in writing up their thoughts on the Titanfall beta for the homepage. I have low expectations on getting some content so surely one of you can exceed them. Send me PM if interested. :)
Eurogamer's Editor had a change of heart over TITANFALL. Thinks it's a great game and RESPAWN is a good studio. Nice read but it's what I already knew before I even got in a Titan. It's a refreshing take on the FPS genre. It doesn't try to replace precision shooters like Halo. Simply put, it's fun and engaging.
Ok.I was wrong. This game has grown on me. Played a bit with Inka this evening and its even more fun with a group.I'm in.The game is just fun.Old school Halo/Cod classic fun video game.

Now I just have to wait a few weeks......
I agree with you. I mentioned earlier that I think it will be a nice break. It wont replace COD for me, but to me, that is exactly the point. I don't want yet another shooter in either the COD or HALO mode. I wanted something new and so now I'll enjoy some variety by getting to play both.
In fact, in watching some of the fan videos people are putting out, I can see there is so much more to the game than I was even thinking about. I watched one that DSmooth put on Facebook the other day and it was this guy using the physics of the game doing all kinds of really cool wall climbing tricks, jumping out of windows only to bounce off and jump right back in, 'ladder climbing' between buildings by jumping back and forth between them, jumping off of and using enemy titans as springboards. Just all the jumping around like that in a game provides a new unique element I hadn't considered even while playing.
I don't always get the chance to play with other 2o2p people very often anymore, but I look forward to getting on whatever FoF tag we have (or whatever that looks like with the XB1) and getting some games in, since most of my local friends probably wouldn't pick this one up.
I had great fun playing this yesterday. Even though its a beta it runs better, is more stable and has less issues than BF4 already (yes, I'm still sore over that game). If there are no major issues I will be getting it the week it comes out.
I played some more last night and I can't wait for next month. Its just a blast, except for when I don't double jump right, miss the window and land right in front of an enemy titan. :( that part sucks.

Without a doubt getting the game at launch. So much a refreshing breath of air into a stale FPS genre. Can't wait to see what Respawn brings with the extra maps, weapons, etc. Going to be a long few weeks waiting - that's for sure...
Absolutely had a blast playing the Beta, and was glad that I was able to share all the extra spare codes I had with people from 2old2play; and sorry Balek that I couldn't hook up into a party chat with you, when you were sending me requests, I ended having EvilClaw figure out the problem and I was okay afterwords.
Definitely can't wait for the next major Xbox 1 update, and also updating our controllers as well, and it looks like that TitanFall statue is going to sit on the fireplace mantle, until I can find a good place to put it.
I learned something new. Halo titles always seemed to go Gold 4-5 weeks from release. I was quite certain that was the rule but I now see going Gold can be as late as 13 days before release.

This article came out on the IGN website and shows off all the maps, weapons, and other goodies for TitanFall, click on the link to check it out:

The beta sold me, I preordered the game yesterday.

LOL......I did that way to many times.
Anyone enjoying this amazing breath of fresh air on the PC?
My friend's list is barren
Post your origin name in the 2o2WASD forums..you'll probably have more joy there.
I'm holding fire on this one for the moment.
No need scratchski it really is good. No, you know what it's fun! I wouldn't lie to you.
Was on the Alpha, and was thoroughly impressed then. Went onthe Beta, and was blown away. LOVE this game.

Completely agree. The FPS genre needs a new take on it and this may be it.
