Good to know, I usually end up running a max grid on the Nordschleffe in the Formula Rookies (Or Frookies as they're being nicknamed lol) really great fun.

another tip for fanatec users is to set your fanatec driver dampening to 100 and ingame dampening to 100 gives it smoother feel....also add fanaleds and enable shared memory ingame

@kurupt Seems you were right about the Lotus 49 turning to shit in a few builds. Tried the new track and it is all over the place.

Managed to get one race in with Knight and ended up running into an FPS bug that seems to be affecting others too. Frames seem to lock every 2 seconds. Just glad it wasn't at my end as I thought my GPU was on the blink.

That's pretty sick looking m8!

if your on fri or sat I wouldn't mind running some laps in the asano after the next build release is available.  I picked up a few extra shifts on thurs this month so I can get most of July off :)

@ tartan I thought I'd let you know iam ahead of you by a full sec in this weeks m3 car test ;) unfortunately first place is 5 secs ahead of me ? :(

i think out of the recent tests this car feels really nice and the feedback is excellent once you take a week to read all the bullshit on how to set the wheels up properly....game feels alot better on my gt3 rs I had to lower the tire ffb down to 35 just so it wouldn't clip ....what have you thought of the last few cars they have been individually testing ?

for those of you that with the game a few things you should know is:

only certain cars have the new tire model wip installed so visit the the forums under physics it will list the cars they have been testing each week.

tire ffb needs to be lowered to 30 to start and increase till your getting the max ffb without your meter going off the chart...you can monitor this through your ingame telemetry in your upper left corner.

set ingame ffb to a 100 and wheel to 100 if applicable I also add 20% dampening ingame to help soften the tire a bit if your looking for the assetto corsa feel raise it to 100

lastly make sure you select the proper wheel ingame when saving to your controller settings

still no continual road ffb has been added yet so some tracks will feel smoother than others

no it goes till fri....wait till tomorrow the car is being updated they found a chamber exploit that allows for better grip when set low, i tried it and it knocked off another sec......not sure if they are goining to reset the leaderboard after or not ?  iam still baffled at where to make up 5 secswith or without an exploit?

I wish they would do a mass update of the game each month, for someone running it every now and then and not visiting the forums for the latest tweaks and issues the game will seem so out of whack for them.  Since there doing daily updates on steam  they could atleast add a readme or update when first launched so people know how to get the best out of it

The update to the m3 gt today makes it feel awesome! The feedback tells you everything I'd say its about 98% complete :) if anything it might be a smidge too grippy, I am interested in what nic Hamilton has to say since he has real life wheel time in the vehicle.....he's also currently in the top 5 for this weeks hotlap competition and been giving excellent feedback in his thread....actually both him and Ben Collins have been giving some straight forward no bullshit feedback a few times he's said a few of the cars are terrible and don't represent anything realistic lol

At first nic seemed pretty biast about the game and seemed to be along for the ride, but since they told Ben to not hold back and give straight forward facts and honest feedback they have both stopped beating around the bush in regards to feedback and have started sounding like pissed off NASCAR drivers talking to there crew chiefs when the car paint right lol

nic had a good post yesterday talking about how they need to produce a quality base tune for every track so that non tuners can have a base to compete with the tuners. Just cause you can't tune doesn't mean you can't drive fast....which is so true

Pit stops and basic pit strategies were implemented into today's build....I ran a few of the cars that they have been specifically testing over the past few weeks and they feel alot better than before but again still have some work left in them.  Casey has created what he calls a more aggressive ffb tire model for the testing of the Mercedes gt3 this week I ran a quick lap before bed with has more feel ffb seems stronger and a bit heavier I haven't ran enough of it to really give it a thumbs up or down yet....some like heavy strong ffb I like a low to med feel so iam not fighting the wheel when things get hairy.

i was reading through the graphics section and they have the progress of each cars day by day progression  there's some pretty cool high detailed stuff in there! Makes me wish I had of paid more attention to computer programming and followed that path when I was younger :(

as for the pit stuff I read what they have planned a car to pit radio looks super cool...instead of trying to toggle through the telemetry while driving you can assign a push to talk button and ask your pit/CPU crew certain questions like fuel, tire temps, weather forecast , what's to do on your next pit etc seems super cool! I can't remember how many times I've screwed up a race do to pits and trying to remember which buttons i assigned lol. I think they also said something along the lines of a similar iracing crew chief where a friend can watch in and be your spotter as well as data reader

ive been running the weekly tm physic focus testing of late and i have to say iam starting to get really excited for what the future holds!  these tests have have really changed the overal feel of the cars and the ffb has massivly improved....cant wait for the continual road feedback to be added once the tires are complete :)

Got a glimpse of the pit engineer today which is pretty cool ( only the visual has been implemented...gives you weather, lap times next turn details, oil spills, time of oppenent behind you etc.....pretty awesome!

Also went back and revisted the road cars (Focus/Evo/Ruf) wow do they feel so much better.

Theres also been a massive influx of people contributing and helping out in regards to car info and physics which is also awesome to see!

It took a little reading to get my wheel sorted but quit easy overall....if you dont set your wheel and jump in with it all maxed your experience will be terrible.  There currently working on default settings for each wheel and taking community feedback and selecting the best one to be implemented on game release

Heres a thread to help get your wheel in order...

http://forum.wmdportal.com/showthread.php?619-Wheel-Settings-Overview-Pl...

For my fanatec the only thing i changed was sho:100 on my wheel and added dri: 1 just to lighten it a bit my wheel is too heavy

some of the tm are a bit hard and they are addressing that , so the current fix is just raise the ingame dampening 20 spaces at a time

I am gonna be glued to this game once they start the physic testing on the DTM car and the BTCC content is released :)

I was scrolling through there forums this evening at stuff I haven't seen before and came across a file detailing what they plan to implement in the final copy and there is some stuff that is gonna make this game epic!

A few ideas were taken from forza which I liked

They will have team clubs where you will have your own team forum to chat, upload tunes paints vids share cars..post upcoming series and events.

sell tunes/paints to get ingame credits which can go towards dlc :)

test before you buy dlc

career mode looks to be the best I've seen starting from karts and working up to the top...good representation of a real life progression...sponsorship deals

a driving school kinda like the gt series

everything will saved and accessible from the cloud

social media links for uploads integrated forum and website like iracing and rre

live pit to cockpit radio, live track and customizable HUD....no more 1-3 generic in game dials, dials will be off the actual cars gages

and one of the best features.... You can create a race, series or championship have a Paypal account linked set an entry fee and divide the winnings across the podium or however.  Some of you will never use it but to me that's fucking awesome!!!!!

could you imagine a yearly btcc series with a $5 entry fee...hell ya

cause how many times have we thought to our selves.....I wish I could get paid to do this :)

guarenteed they will have an epic big cash World Series race that will bring aliens from everywhere, oh there will be so much drama and intensity with money involved.  I see a reality tv show based off this :)

That's incredible.

Makes leagues all the more worthwhile, having something for the winner.

There is a void in the car lineup however, the list appears to be complete but there are no sign of any GT1&2 cars coming, which seems a waste when there will be 2 LMP1 and a full Oreca P2 licence.

Im having a bit of an issue with the events not recording and updating my lap times, and not exactly sure if the game is updating properly.

@kurupt Do you have the Capri event up yet?

I haven't driven in the official event yet and if iam correct the Capri will be tested again for the coming week as well.  I read something about events and I believe only running in the official event will record your time....what package do you have?  If you have a lower tier it could be your on an old build that isn't compatible with the event?  I have a handful of senior packs and since going live on steam iam receiving daily builds :)

As for gt1& 2 cars I wouldn't be to concerned it will eventually get filled.  From what I've gathered the cars listed will be the 60 available on release day as well as 6 laser scanned tracks.  Dlc will become available with new licensing deals and in that file I read it said you can buy a forza like season pass for $30 or buy individual content.  Content I believe will be grouped with content that will go together...exp. gt1 cars with gt tracks.  Worst case scenario they create a fantasy car or get a license to a tuner company like ruf .

they Should be able to lock in licensing with a majority of companies they had in shift 2.....audi hopefully!

Once the game starts advertising I think alot of manufactures will come knocking at the door wanting there cars modelled and advertised in game :)

as awesome as money races are I wonder if it will be legal? Or if they will need a gambling license...cause essentially its like online gambling....as far as I know online poker sites in Canada have been shut down and it's only free to play

i could see my current racing addiction becoming much worse :s

edit: I believe some of the events ended either today or tomorrow and go live again on fri with the weekly build every tier should recieve

Hmm adding money to the equation opens a hell of a can of worms, not so much the gambling thing, as I don't think it would fall under that, but...Jaysus people can get hot enough under the collar racing for points, that will multiply ten fold racing for cash and I for one have no interest in it, money dirties everything and it will dirty sim racing mark my words. as for the rest? some interesting stuff, but knowing how recourse hungry Sim physics is how the hell they will get it running well on an Xbox 360 intrigues me. Will it need to be dummed down for consoles? and if so does this mean splitting PC and Console racers? One of the things that interested me about this one was the idea that PC and Console racers would be able to race together...Dunno, Kurupt? Any ideas on this.

I am still a bit peeved about it moving to steam as well, I didn't mind the weekly update and thought that worked well, never ate too much data and I really can't be assed to download it all again until it is ready, so keep the updates coming I will rely on you guys to give me heads up when it's ready to bite the data bullet.

I completely agree on the money aspect, hence a future reality tv show lol

as for the consoles....the game is beining built for pc than beining neutered to what ever each console can handle.  Apparently the next gen consoles will have there building started at a later date and from what I hear funding will open up again separately for them.

i think the cross platform idea of playing with each other is a distant dream ?

I understand the daily builds beining a hassle to someone with a lower data allowance, I'd put your steam in off line or click on pcars and turn off updates

Have they been updated yet?

Last time i tried them it had what felt like a 20 degree steering rotation and would do break dancing at the slightest sniff of a curb .

They were completely rebuilt but still have those issues, but from what I read people are saying they are pretty close they just need the slippery curbs fixed which are present through out the game...once I got use to it I just moved the brake bias to 50% it's currently  at 100% rear which makes braking a little squirrelly.  I think today's or tomorrows build is supposed to correct alot

They redid the home screen in todays build and it looks awesome!!!

New sounds for the racer v8 are really good it will be nice to run that car with the new tm, and they updated the textures for a few tracks The Ring is mind blowing and probably the best track ive seen in game and it still not complete.....I was able to run in ultra with everything on and it never dropped below 60 fps absolutley beautiful!!
