Broken promises, not living up to the hype, previous maps, unbalanced gameplay, etc have led to the pessimistic outlook of many here regarding 343 and CI. If you went to a restaurant and it only tastes good 1 out of 10 times, I don't think you would be optimistic that the food would be wonderful every time you went. If you feel these posts are made by crybabies, then so be it. You don't have to read them. You have the freedom to skip them over. However, as this is a forum and none of them are breaking the rules, they are within their rights to express their opinions, positive or negative.
If the food sucks 9 out of 10 times I'D STOP GOING TO THAT RESTAURANT! Probably way before I got to the 10th time.
You are correct, the crybabies can be crybabies in this forum. Just as people can call people out on their crybabyness too.
not true. they are discussing the game. that's what this forum is for.

So here's a somewhat related question. If 343 has tons of employees, and they outsourced new map packs, what is 343 working on themselves then?
As far as the maps, my main hope really is just that they aren't painful to play on. If they are even mediocre that's fine by me, because at least then there are more choices for maps in matchmaking.

The next title.
Yeah, I think you're right.
I'm thinking it's a safe bet there are several next gen Xbox developer kits at 343 they're using to make Halo 5 with. If we consider a new Microsoft console for the holidays this year, then I think Halo 5 will release for the holidays in 2014. Microsoft will probably have a decent offering at launch, then Halo 5 will do a Halo 3 release to suddenly drive up sales a bit into the consoles life.
So in a way I'm left wondering, how soon did 343 begin working on Halo 5 after Halo 4 launched? How much support did they really give to Halo 4 before working towards their next moneymaker?
I think the differences between Halos 4 and 5 will speak volumes about the direction of 343 design for a long time to come.

Bungie was working on Destiny while the B team sank the franchise down to Reach.

Yeah. They didn't want to make that, but contractual obligations and all eh? hehe
At least now they can make the game they really desire. They chose to make it, are passionate about it knowing they'll form it for ten years. That is key though, that they want to make this game, rather than they are there to make Microsoft profit on Halo forever.
I'm honestly really excited about the map pack. I hope Bravo had some influence on the maps. The only thing that I wish they would change is how they are putting maps into playlist rotation. They just don't come up enough. I play BTB alot and I rarley see the new maps. They need to have a way to make the maps free. I would much rather be charged for armor and emblems than maps. If I pay for something I want to use it.

Really doubt BravoMLG had any influence on these outside of a possibility for weapon placement. Surely these maps have been in production before he was hired last December.
In BTB, were you mostly alone? I ask because if you go in with a full party, that has DLC, it will come up more often.

Agreed here. I think a lot of people are quick to hop onto the Bravo Bandwagon for these maps, but these were probably (mostly) done closer to release and planned out a while back.
Ya I meant that Bravo helped with the spawns, weapons, map flow, ect. I think Bravo has done a very good job with the new playlists. Little things like putting red and blue colors in to help with callouts can make a big difference to me.

keep the topic to halo gentlemen.
sure man, go for it!

Monolith video up. Kynan, please don't talk in these any more.
The mancannon seems out of place, but this is still the map I've got some faith in in this map pack.
Edited to add: Kevin Franklin is the one that should stop talking. Kynan is still fine.
I agree with you on Landfall. I think Monolith looks an awful lot like a rethink of Wizard/Warlock. I also think Skyfall may play pretty well.

Skyline, from this video, actually looks interesting. I'm a little wary of a map that has such a seemingly open bottom level like that.
Does anyone else get the feeling that Bravo regularly beats the rest of the development team?

He may not have had much to any influence over the geometry, but I wouldn't count him out for weapon/objective/spawn placement.
Haven default spawns still boggle the mind.
Right? That and Abandon, especially because they have the same fix. You only have to play it a couple of times on each side to see it.
