I'm waiting for the GOTY edition of Fallout 3. I knew they were probably have some DLC, but wow. I never imagined this much. The GOTY will probably suck out 2 months of my life. But I can't wait. :D

Ya i sold my Fallout 3 copy unopened and unplayed for what i paid for it the day that the GOTY edition was announced. I figured i'd waited this long already and i'd rather get $100 worth of content for 50 or 60 bucks.

lego indiana jones was entertaining for a few mins.. i got into the star wars one over xmas.

I've played 4 of the 5 current Lego games. I'm not sure i'll bother with Indy 2 or not, though it was probably the quickest one to play through of them all. Batman seemed to take forever. I'm not going to play Lego Rockband, i think that one is totally stupid and i'm on the fence about Lego harry potter since i never got into the harry potter series.\r \r

Actually C, i do :)\r \r Whenever there's a clearance sale at some reseller, i always look at the achievements to see how long i think it'll take me and i'll go pick the game up cheap. I call these 'filler' titles because they're not AAA titles, i would have bough those at launch. But they're games that I think i can play in a week or two, get 1000 points and move on because there's some major release coming soon but I don't have anything to play right now.\r \r Likewise i've rejected some games because the achievements are rediculous, the dev feels like you should only play their game for 8 hours a day straight for half a year to get all the achievements. No thanks. I can't remember which one i rejected recently but it was either unreal tournament or quake enemy territory, too many what i call extreme achievements based on having to play the game for way longer than i ever play a game before moving on.\r \r

Microsoft is always screwed with this stuff because their prices can't / shouldn't compete with retail prices since they're the manufacturer. So you should always be able to get the best deals from retail.

Mark my words, I will not ever spend a dime on the virtual arcade. you can play clones of every one of those games for free all over the net. As for Natal, I guess I'll wait and see. I want to find out what the price point is and how it is used. I don't know when a new console is coming out but I can't imagine it being more than two years away. I would hate to buy the thing and then have to buy a new one again for the new console if it isn't bc.

same here, i have it. Was going to play it after Mass Effect 2 but then ended up buying Bioshock. Shit... i still have fallout 3 GOTY from a year ago i need to play. I don't think i'll be playing Bioshock through on hard, i just don't have time to play through games multiple times, too many to play .

@buckeye75: My guess is that they'll keep profiles and game saves on MS memory units or hard drives to deter cheating. Wasn't that the rationale they used to band 3rd-party MUs? Supposedly, they're allowing DLable games on external USB media, so don't know how that would work...

One thing worth pointing out about the Splinter Cell 'free' DLC, is that they are merely unlocking content that is already on the disc. \r \r

The Homefront pass doesn't sound all that bad, seeing that it lets people get to level 5. Kind of an extended demo, if you will. Someone buys it used, decides to try out the MP, likes it, and wants to contribute $10 to keep the lights on. Not a total kick in the balls.

I should be able to play online to full capacity regardless if I buy a used copy or a new copy. This will be a pass for me.

Although i do favor it over charging a monthly fee to play.\r \r But that being said, i've been looking forward to homefront for a year now so I'm getting it anyway. Well... they are on their 3rd release of F.E.A.R so they've got a built up fan base. I'd say it's the right time for something like a big collectors edition to come out. I won't be buying it because i'm not that much of a fan but i'm sure they won't have trouble selling them. \r \r I always think it's stupid when a new IP comes out in a collectors edition. No fan base but here's a $99 SKU for you to buy if you want to take the risk this IP is any good.\r

Ya i was looking to Dungeon Seige 3 to be what I wanted Torchlight to be. 4 player co-op dungeon crawler.

Last i heard though, their co-op was going to suck. It was guest no story progression and henchmen style , no bringing your character in. So pretty lazy. Hopefully they make it real before it launches or i think i'll pass. No one wants to play henchmen and get no story progression for their time playing.

I have made a solemn vow to never buy any Obsidian game ever again. I made the mistake with KotoR 2, skipped NWN2 outright and then was foolish enough to take a gander at Alpha Protocol. I should've not done that, but it seemed interesting enough. If suffered from being developed by Obsidian big time though. And as for New Vegas... I'm a Fallout fan since the first game... I had to play this installment for as far as Obsidian would allow me.\r \r But the buck stops here. No matter what big IP Obsidian gets to develop next, I'm not buying their shit anymore.\r \r Obsidian should be getting a classs-act lawsuit handed to them. For willingly and knowingly destroying great franchises with amatoristic coding and bad customer relations. They should also be deemed a criminal organization with the aim of conning people for nominal sums of money by selling bad products. (That's illegal in many trades, why is it allowed in games?)

I dont' have much experience with Obsidian, in fact looking at their resume, i haven't yet played any of their games but mostly due to such shitty reviews and gamers complaining about how buggy their stuff is.\r \r That's what kept me away from Alpha Protocol, all the complaints and the xbox original looking visuals.\r \r Vegas i would wait for the GOTY on anyway but all the bug complaints would have kept me away. Althoug i played Fable 3 which came out about the same time and it was buggy too but i guess not to the extent Vegas was.\r \r Dungeon Siege 3 looked interesting but the half assed coop and the gears 3 beta will probably keep me away from it. As well as the build up of shitty releases under the Obsidian brand.

Don't get me started on Lionhead. Peter Molinoux has totally lost his connection with the community and is creating games now that fit his imaginary world that he has made up in his head.\r \r There was a time where his name would be uttered in one breath with Will Wright, Sid Meier and Jeff Minter. But he doesn't belong in that echelon anymore.\r \r I have great hopes that Will Wright rejoins Maxis when his contract with EA ends. He had to stay on when Maxis was released from their bonds with EA because of the monopoly-laws. When you see EA-footage where Will Wright appears in, he doesn't look all too happy.\r \r But all in all, Obsidian should do the honorable thing and fold. But like many dev-studios out there, they themselves think they can do no wrong. A weird form of arrogance that ails many devs.

I also was stoked about that, but using the Kinect really limits the apps functionality. It does the same thing for ESPN. Its just much easier to grab the remote.

The reasoning for the ME3 delay is troublesome. EA already showed us with DA2 that its ruining Bioware, this may be the finishing blow.

My guess with the Kinect in Mass Effect 3 is that you will be able to make a Shepard with your likeness. I would assume that many games will start doing that as well. I want to make a fighter in Soul Caliber 5 with my face now that I think about it.

If SB doesn't release with the mega-control panel then its not SB. My biggest regret last gen was that I didn't have the money at the time to get that game and that sweet, sweet controller.

Got the free table yesterday, and it's high quality.\r \r Zen is one of the few Arcade studios delivering high quality consistently and usually for a very friendly price.\r \r I recommend them wholeheartedly, at least.

Ubisoft has the status of being a half-finished budgetgame dev/publisher overhere.\r \r Ubisoft is reknowned for their insistance to translate games without giving the gamer the choice to select the language a game was originally coded in.\r \r This means that translated text has more errors in it than a preschooler can match in an entire schoolyear. They do the same with voice-overs, contacting the cheapest talent they can find, which also doesn't help appreciating Ubi's efforts.\r \r But at least it isn't EA. That's something.
