Slee made me the team captain for our Gears of War ladder team! WOOOO! Probably not that big a deal...but its cool to me.

I just gotta keep in mind its for fun first and foremost. Im not usually competitive, but I do wanna try to win some matches.

Tonight is Hammer of Pwns training night, so we'll be able to see where everyone is and go from there with the challenges. It should be a fun night.

After being off of work for 4 days straight...Im back at work. And damn do I not wanna be here.

Started feeling like crap last night before I went to bed. But I couldnt sleep. Too much caffeine intake all weekend. Drank way too much Mountain Dew and energy drinks to stay up all weekend and game.

Now Im paying for it...

Ate alot of good food, had good times visiting with family. And got harassed by my aunt for having long hair. "You'll never get anywhere with long hair!"

I said "sure I will....shampoo commercials!" lol.

None of this blog is based on hardcore technical specs on which is better or anything like that...its just my personal opinion.

I used to be PC gamer alot. I played every FPS on pc first and foremost and alot of other pc games I could get my hands on. But over the past few years I've moved more towards consoles. Why?

Here are my reasons.

Console gaming is cheaper - at least the 360 and Wii is....

Yep...did my first workout today. My lungs burn like crazy since it was so cold outside...and it started to snow as I was finishing up. Hopefully I wont get sick.

But my goal with this workout was to focus on my breathing and make sure I kept a steady breath while I was going down hill and uphill. It was hard, but I had good music blaring in my ears to help keep me focussed.

So day #1 of the rest of my life has been a success. Well not totally...still got some art stuff to do.

So I get to the place to start setting up my network equipment right, get the hub and a bunch of cables plugged up and ready.

Set my monitor and 360 up and Julias Xbox and tv. So we both jump on halo to test the connection...All is good. Theres at least 12-13 people in the house at this point all wanting to jump on some Halo. They all ask me and Julia for controllers....keep in mind Im being paid for setting up the networking stuff only so theres only 1 controller per person.

I hear people say, "well lets jump on some Halo...we got 2 Xboxes!"

Not really...that was a once in a rare while kind of rant. Just gotta press my buttons the right way and a rant emerges.

Anyway...

Picked up the Gears of War Special Edition Strategy Guide. This thing is bad ass. The artbook is full of high-res artwork and concept art. I plan on using it alot for references for some future artwork of my own. I would suggest anyone whose a hardcore gears fan or artist needs to pick this up. Its worth it.

thats been bugging me for the past few days as I've been reading in the forums. Keep in mind I do respect other peoples views even though I dont agree. but I've read everyone elses opinion...now its time to share mine. I posted this in the Gears forum under "The More I play the more this game dissapoints" thread.

I've gotta rant here for a sec so please forgive me...this isnt directed at anyone in particular. Just need to get this off my chest.

Its Hump day...so go hump something to make it official. Boss....coworker....table....whatever. Just hump something. (Yourself doesnt count).

Havent been able to play online the past 2 days because of either physical problems or hardware issues. My headset finally got fixed so I dont need to get a new one right now. Superglue is like magic. it was either that or duct tape.

Alot of new Halo news flying around since today is Halo day! Wooooo....yeah....ok....woo.......Im done.

I decide to finally hop on Live tonight and what happens to my dismay? MY DAMN HEADSET BREAKS!!!!

The earpiece just falls right off like it was not ever attached. Its currently being superglued...but Im gonna have to get a new one tomorrow for sure. Superglue is good...but this ain't right. Im sure it will affect hearing my team mates eventually.

So no live for me tonight.....

Perhaps tomorrow afternoon since Im off of work and have nothing else to do really.

Why dont they make heavy duty headsets that dont snap so easily?

Today was not only Emergence day but my b-day as well. Did I play any Gears? Only a little. Did I want to play more? Sure. Why did I not? I don't know.

Had dinner with my parents, grandparents, sister and her boy-toy and my girlfriend. It was pretty enjoyable. Just sat around and talked, ate, cut the cake and then went on about our own way. Got some cash which was nice, and a couple of trade paperbacks I've been wanting.

So all around not a bad day. I probably should have played more Gears though....
