I used to be PC gamer alot. I played every FPS on pc first and foremost and alot of other pc games I could get my hands on. But over the past few years I've moved more towards consoles. Why?
Here are my reasons.
Console gaming is cheaper - at least the 360 and Wii is....
Playing top shelf PC games at full spec now means I have to drop another $400 or more to upgrade my system. And quite frankly I like my system where it is. It does what I need it to do, surf the interweb, Photoshop, some 3d Modelling and video editing.
I use my pc for graphic design and other art-oriented stuff...so gaming comes in dead last right now as far as pc's go. And theres not enough PC games that peek my interest. The only games I play on PC are all my emulators. Which suit me just fine.
I prefer to be able to turn on my 360, and have my pc rendering whatever video Im working on or just have it open to jump on gamefaqs or whatever. I like keeping my PC open.
Alot of people (including my personal friends) have gotten mad at me since I dont play pc games much anymore...but I just dont see the point in it anymore really. I would rather spend money on more games and accessories for my console than PC upgrades that could possibly fry my system and cause me to lose everything I have on it. The only reason I will upgrade my system is if I decide to get into game development and/or intense 3d modelling and animation for a personal film project. But thats not gonna happen for a while.
And PC games take up too much space...where am I supposed to keep all my porn?
Happy Turkey Day everyone. Enjoy the gobbly-goodness and try not to overdo it!
