I've read up on Adobe Flex and started prototyping a few screens so DarthCestual can start working on character portraits for the game. Now that I've hammered out some dimensions for him to start building up some artwork and sent him a list of the creatures that he can build into the game (still need to get him the characters you can be).

For those that don't know, didn't read my other entry, or have absolutely no interest in my ramblings (probably more than less) I'm planning on developing a flash RPG style casual game. Some folks ask me to keep a little dev blog on what I've done and where it's going.

For those that haven't read the news, Bear Stearns, the nations 5th largest financial trading house, almost went Bankrupt this a.m. when the floor fell out of their risky bets on some loans (by some, I mean enough to cause its financial unwinding).

It's been something I've been contemplating for a long time and as my wifes casual gaming website starts to pickup steam and get lots of visitors looking for specific styles of gameplay it seems like a good time to start... my own flash game development studio :)

With all the hardware issues that the Xbox 360 had it was no surprise when I powered my 2 year old console on this morning to emtpiness. The video card just decided to stop working, no output in HD and nothing but white lines and dots in standard def.

Sad, but true. I went and bought the 360 Arcade Bundle for 279.99 which was enough to replace the core box with a brand new one, and, surprise this one worked right when I powered it on. Odd, the CDROM is now white instead of that silver color that the classic one had.

Well, my wife and I took the plunge today and finished the Endless setlist in Rockband. We've got something like 1,300 stars now on our world tour. It took roughly 4.5 hours to complete with only one screw up (I was playing hard on the guitar and got lost in a hammer-on-fest solo from one of those unknown bands). She played drums on medium because both her and I can are near the end on hard but no way can provide 100% proof we'd finish 58 songs without endless FAILING.
