Merry Christmas

It is Christmas Eve and all through our house, the potato soup is cooking and the sausage rolls are baking.  The boys have been busy.  This is the tradition the Dastard men are carrying forth.  We have already opened gifts and run to the store more than we would like.  The snow that fell this past week is melting but I think we could say it is a white Christmas.  The house didn't get decorated and the tree only has lights, but the mood is right for spending with family.  Halo 3 is the game of choice (I'm out numbered

Finished

The one good thing about not having online capability while in travel mode is that I finished COD4.  I sat on the bed thinking that was waay too easy.  So, I go back to view each mission and sure enough, somewhere along the line (I know which one) the mode was switched to recruit.  I started on regular and actually restarted the first two on veteran.  Well, hell, sure it seemed easy, IT WAS.  Well, I actually did plan on going through all of them on veteran to get more acheveys.  I know what I did.  I went back on a mission after finishing on regular to get a piece of intel.  I went back on re

Traveling Blues

Once again I find myself in the hospitality of others (read hotel).  I packed up my console with visions of playing online, boot camp and the first night of the Silver Fox Brigade (the brain child of TexasTwister for those of us with slow reflexes, read over 40).  After a good amount of time on site chat with Zikan and then Dastard, I still can't connect through the wireless connection.  I have tried internet sharing and bridging and just can't make it work.  So, I am left to play the campaign.  Ok, not a bad thing, just not my first choice.

Ice Warning

"With the increase in tempatures today, the ice that has accumulated on the trees and powerlines is now falling. Falling ice can cause significant injuries. Please make efforts to avoid walking under powerlines and trees when possible."

I received this in an email today.  My first thought was DUH!  But, considering the litigious nature of some people, I'm sure there is someone out there who would be hit by falling ice after walking under a large tree with hanging branches from the weight of the ice and sue the owner.

December 7, 1941

If you have never talked to a veteran of WWII, do so today.  There aren't many left, but it is because of their service that we have many of the freedoms we enjoy.

Tomorrow marks the 66th anniversary of FDR's speech to congress.
