Drama in the Office.

Well, my office has exploded with high school drama. I’m so tired of it. Yes, we all hate our jobs…..but they have to argue about it all day long, then argue that they are tired of arguing about it, then they just argue for the sake of arguing then argue about hating their jobs even more because of all the arguing…. Just like politics, I’m just walking away, calling both sides idiots, and moving on.

But as usual, before I make an odd purchase I’ll check with the community…..
A few of my co-workers I still like are going to start playing paintball….in normal “throw money at a new hobby that may not last past the first attempt”   I’ve been looking at a nice package deal on Amazon.com for a Tippmann A5. Anyone have any experience with it? Anyone have any better suggestions? The last one I had was a Tippmann 98 from about 15 years ago.

I have an Angel A1 .Its 1k dollar Marker , My buddy has a 300 dollar Ion ( by Smart Parts ) The Ion does the same thing as my Angel pretty much. I would rent first if I were you. Try and rent from a store if you can instead of at the field. If your playing speedball you want an electronic marker. Woodsball you can get away with a pump or semi auto. Wear a athletic cup lol when you play . Get quality paint and check barrel to paint fit. Have fun.... At Automan : Id be more inclined to go to a 2o2p paintball party that the lan........ IMO

If you're going to go paint balling, you may want to rent for the first couple of times. Most places have rental guns. They aren't that good, but at least you won't be out a bit of cash for something that is going to collect dust. The only thing you'd probably want to invest in is some cameo gear. I used to wear all black, but that's cause I couldn't afford cameo gear at the time. I used to play in my last year of HS and first year of college. Then, when I had to choose between money for eating or rent or money for paint, the paint lost bad. It was a ton of fun when it lasted! A lot of places have an open field with obstacles, and they are ok, I enjoy getting out into the woods and playing in the elements. nothing beats a hot, humid day in the woods in FL pinned down with paint flying all around you! good times!

My nephew loves to paintball and he's got a tippmann. The packages amazon sells are the shit. Very complete. The only thing I don't like about the tippmann is that the paintball dispenser gets in the way of your sights. I don't know if they are all like that.

Tippann is sort of the beginner of guns. If you are going to do this often, and want to have a shot at throwing some serious paint. Drop the cash on an Autococker or other gun with a computer brain in the trigger. It's more expensive, but worth it IMO. Renting or borrowing someone's gun might give you a feel as to what you may like. I have a big hangup with the triggers on the tippmann.

@BigFish I normally would, but it's $45 to rent gear (an ancient pump marker) or $65 to rent a semi-auto. and since all ammo prices are still going up, I am just as likely to take this out to shoot as I am any of my guns so I don't see dropping 200-400 as being that much of an issue. @Rau I did see that there are some computer controlled trigger assemblies compatible with the a5, I didn't give them much thought, but if they are worth a look I'll start comparing them as well. Also the field where we are planning on playing does allow full auto, multiple markers (for some reason some guys carry 2 guns and a side arm into the scenarios...which sounds fun, but wasteful.

Automan I bought my son an A5 for Christmas almost 2 years ago. He has never used it. I will sell it to you on the cheap if you want - you can try it out and if you don't like it you can send it back or whatever.

Oh, I miss playing paintball. So much fun! That's it...I know what I'm doing with the kids in a couple weeks. :D I loved my Ion, but that was a few years ago. Tippmann's are good, never had any problem using any of them. You'll enjoy it if you purchase one...and it's well worth the cost. Though, if you have never been to play before I would think about going to play just once with rental, or a borrowed marker before spending the money. Just in case you are insane and don't like it. :D

I get the feeling we could put together a pretty good 2o2p paintball weekend some spring weekend.
