Shared on Wed, 05/23/2007 - 13:03I apologize for posting twice, so quickly, but Stacy just sent me the current Megan update and I wanted to post it for you. All is, somewhat, not well:
Wow, it has been a very long time since I have sent out an update. I keep saying I am going to set up a care page for Megan but it seems as though we never have a spare minute. We have had a lot going on but still no biopsy results. It has now been 14 weeks so it should be any day now. Tomorrow Megan will go in for a procedure to have her adenoids removed. That is all depending on if they want to do it tomorrow. Megan has had a very rough week. Last week, while we were in Disney World, Megan became very sick. She started throwing up and she has not stopped since then. Sometimes she acts perfectly fine and then the very next minute she is throwing up every where. Sound familiar? It does to us. She seemed to have a nice break from all of this and we thought maybe all the new medicines were helping but I guess not. She went to the doctor yesterday and he said that she has an infection caused from her tube. He does not believe that it is the reason for the vomiting though. He did put her on some medicine to treat the infection but now all that has done is given her very bad potty. And she is still throwing up. Today she threw up and once again it seemed to be everything that went into her tummy over night but this time it had some purple in it, which to us means stomach lining or blood or something like that. We are waiting to hear back from the doctor on what we need to do. The bad thing is that she can just be sitting there acting just fine and all of a sudden she throws up. It is not every 10 minutes or anything like that, it can be hours after she last got sick and she will do it again. Please pray for Megan, that they will find the cause for her throwing up like this. Her doctor said we are slipping back into the way she used to be. While she has put weight on, she has not gained any in about 4 weeks and with all the vomiting and stuff it would be very easy for her to drop very quickly, especially since this has been going on for almost 7 days now. Pray for her surgery tomorrow and that they would not have any complications during the procedure. While this would normally be a pretty easy procedure, the nurse that called me today said that they will have to take extra precautions with her and recovery is not going to be as easy for her. I will try and send an update out tomorrow if they go ahead with her surgery. Thank you all so much and God Bless!
