Insolent geese, some remasters, weird stuff from Japan...Sounds like a new video game release week.
AI: The Somnium Files
Release Date: September 17, 2019
Platforms: PC, NS, PS4

This mystery adventure game has branching paths and the game play is split between investigation and some action sequences. The choices you make advance the story, but there’s an easy path to playing multiple branches. I love story driven adventure games so this trailer keeps sucking me in, and then flipping back to nevermind way to weird. Check it out for yourself at the link above.

Fishing games are still for reel? Not sure why the actual fishing graphics look PS1 quality while the rest of the stuff looks alright. Not only do you fish, but you can also have inane conversations with your friends and cook what you catch into tasty dishes!

The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening
Release Date: September 20, 2019
Platforms: NS

This is a major update to the 1993 GameBoy version of this title for Nintendo Switch. I’m not sure how I feel about Chain Chomp and Thwomp crossing over into Zelda games. And wait was that Wort in the trailer?! Stop mixing your franchises Nintendo! I guess its because the whole story is some weird Link fever dream. It’s got similar style gameplay to other Zelda titles but also includes some jumping and platforming. Some new features here are use of Amiibos, new mini games, and player created dungeons.
Untitled Goose Game

Platforms: PC, NS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA1Mfh3LXs4
Have you ever had the urge to be an insolent goose terrorizing townspeople?! Well now is your chance! The game which I believe now de facto *has* a title has sandbox stages where you complete objectives to move to the next challenge.
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remaster
Release Date: September 20, 2019
Platforms: PC, PS4, NS*

This is a remaster of the 2013 game for modern consoles. The * is for Nintendo Switch which is just a port with no updates. PS4 and PC have updated resolution and performance. The original game was great (full of cute characters and terrible puns) so worth it to check out if you’ve never played or never finished the original.
