New Releases: Week of October 3, 2021

‘Member that time even though I responded to Soup on Friday ‘yeah I’m on new releases this weekend’ I then totally forgot till Sunday night?!  Me neither...This week has lots of games I already own or definitely plan to buy.

Alan Wake Remastered

Release Date: October 5, 2021

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, XBO/S/X

This is the game I got free with my XBox360 that taught me I hate flashlights and stealth.  If you like those things now you can play it on modern hardware in 4K without all the product placement.  Although honestly I think product placement from 2010 would have been a feature for me.  Also in this comparison image did they just make him less goth? It's kinda like 90s Trent Reznor vs. Oscar winner Trent Reznor...

Jett: The Far Shore

Release Date: October 5, 2021

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5

Superbrothers are back combining forces with Pine Scented Software to bring you this action-adventure exploration title.  There are flashlights so I probably won’t like it but the premise of exploring for science and not just blowing up everything in sight as your mission sounds interesting.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Release Date: October 5, 2021

Platforms: PC, NS, XBO, XBX/S, PS4, PS5

Oh man Invader Zim, Ren and Stimpy AND Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?!  I might need this even though every Nickelodeon mashup game I’ve owned in the past has been horrendous.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania

Release Date: October 5, 2021

Platforms: PC, NS, PS4, PS5, XBO, XBS/X

Sega monkeys in balls are back!  This is a remaster of the first 3 games for the 20th anniversary.  If only Sony would bring back a real Ape Escape game as a competitor, which is by far the superior simian based franchise.

Far Cry 6

Release Date: October 7, 2021

Platforms: PS4, PS5, PC, XBO, XBS/X

I’ve somehow never gotten into this franchise.  But did Ubisoft clear Dani Rojase with Ted Lasso?!

Metroid Dread

Release Date: October 8, 2021

Platforms: NS

This game started development on the DS in the mid-2000s and is now making its way to the Nintendo Switch.  Samus Aran is back and so is 2D side-scrolling!
