New Releases: Week of October 25th, 2020

So I started streaming. This is a whole new level of odd for your pal ChunkySoup (aka ChunkySoup703 on Twitch) as I hate, yes hate, any media with my face in it. However, what bugs me more is not following through on stuff I try. So this is not, I repeat, not a video game stream but a rather dry Old Man tries to learn some coding stream. I am not in it for fame or fortune or any kind of recognition, I just need to hold my self accountable. Why am I telling you this? I honestly am not sure, other than I have been struggling to setup something on a budget of zero ($0.00). I have been using my phone and Droidcam, I have OBS and also Streamlabs OBS and I have been struggling with all of it. I actually was using LiveDroid but it kept freezing and conking out so I switch to Droid cam and that seems to be better. OBS works and its bare minimum but not nice to look at. Streamlabs adds some flair but I am again struggling with setting up a scene other than the pre-built one. Downloading a new one seems to have issues. Then there is my headset. Love my old TurtleBeach A40's but I keep forgetting to either plug them in to my Xbox Controller so the mic works or that if I am silent for 5 minutes they conveniently shut themselves off to save battery.

Why do I care anyway? I am just doing this for my own personal benefit but oddly enough...I am enjoying it!

Anyway, enough rambling about old guy learning new tricks, lets get to some games!

Watch Dogs Legion
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One
Release Date: October 29th, 2020

I am not sure I can take anymore dystopian overlord 1984 stuff. It's starting to hit too close to home. The main issue is my role would be "random fodder NPC" and not the main character and that is rather depressing. Don't get me wrong here, Watch Dogs Legion looks pretty cool but I need to not worry about the current state of affairs in the world when I play video games. Maybe one day soon this won't feel too close to real and I can play it without my monkey brain thinking about all the what-ifs as I try to fall asleep.

Ghostrunner
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One
Release Date: October 27th, 2020

I watched this trailer and all I could think was someone stole Zero from Borderlands and stuffed him in Mirrors Edge. Watch the trailer and tell me I'm wrong....I'll wait. I mean it looks pretty cool but if Doom Eternal taught me anything, its that I am getting too damn old for jumping puzzles. I wish that was not the case because Ghostrunner looks like it could be some good fun.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 30th, 2020

Fog? Check! Creepy wooden stick figures? Check! Ghost kids popping up unexpectedly? Check! Party members dying in creepy ways? Check! Chunky abso-fucking-lutely nope-ing out of this game? Check! I got shivers just watching the trailers, but if horror is your genre of choice then welcome dear friend, welcome to Little Hope!

Pacer
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 29th, 2020

Do you remember WipEout? Not the TV show, the video game from like 1995. If not, look at the video below, then watch the trailer for Pacer. I loved WipEout and if racing real life cars in Forza, Forza Horizon, Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, etc has become passe for you, you may want to give Pacer a try.
