Some weeks the gaming gods bestow see fit to only betstow a pittance of great games upon us. Some weeks we can't swim to the top of the gaming cornacopia. This week is closer to the former not the latter. In the dead of summer the market drives these kind of weeks; everyone is out on vacation so why release games nobody is around to buy? Then again weeks like the one coming up is also driven by the market. These kind of weeks we see shovelware and one or two big releases where the rest of the large publishers steer clear as there is one game that will dominate the sales charts!

Red Dead Redmption 2
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 26th, 2018
I know this will be the unpopular opionion but I can't stand open world games. The premise of every GTA and the original Red Dead intrigue me as I love single player games with great story lines. The issue I have is the story has intended gaps where you can do other things to level up/ gain experience. I do a few of those and then forget what I was supposed to do or it takes so long that the main story gets lost on me. When that happens I start to lose interest. The first few times the story isn't far enough along usually that it's not hard to pick back up. However, when I have to spend a few hours doing my own thing before I get back to the story I'm out. I want to love these games as much as I am sure most of you do but they are just not y cup of tea. Let it be known that while open world games are not my jam, I am glad Red Dead 2 is here as the gaming industry needs a game like this. Something a little different, something not a hundred player battle royale that even COD is moving towards, something that takes us away to a point in time different than the future. For that reason I am truly excited for Red Dead Redepmtion 2 to drop on Friday!
