New Releases: Week of November 11, 2018

This is a big week for AAA titles. Fallout 76 is here for reals out of beta. Nintendo has the first Pokemon title for the Switch and Hitman 2 hits consoles.

Hitman 2

Release Date: November 13, 2018

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO

I was shocked to think there’s only been one Hitman game. Oh wait because there are SEVEN other Hitman.  Way to math EIDOS!  Also shame on you for missed opportunity on the subtitle Electric Buggalo...

My Riding Stables-Life with Horses

Release Date: November 13, 2018

Platforms: NS

Look at the horses!  A lot of times for new releases I take the lazy route and just list all the older stuff that’s being ported to Nintendo Switch but the name and box art really stood out on this one so it gets the full treatment. I mean who doesn’t want to play a game whose marketing pitch involves:

Make your dreams come true on the stud farm...

SNK 40th Anniversary Collection

Release Date: November 15, 2018

Platforms: NS

Celebrating 40 years of SNK games this showcases some of the pre-Neo Geo SNK classics.  There’s 14 games at launch and more to come.

Sypro Reignited Trilogy

Release Date: November 13, 2018

Platforms: PS4, XBO

This features the original 3 Spyro games remastered.  I applaud the dragon/ignite word play but isn’t Spyro also set in medieval times? I feel like they should have gone full pun with IgKnighted.  Maybe that’s what the launch day patch the internet is already pissy about will fix?

Fallout 76

Release Date: November 14, 2018

Platforms: PS4, PC, XBOne

It was nice of Bethesda to release on Wednesday and give all the other games coming out this week a fighting chance (I know at least one of you is putting 100s of hours into that horse game before you have time to check this one out right?). I’ve been ignoring beta news and am interested to see how everything everyone loved about the Fallout games translates a West Virginia setting and online multiplayer.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! And Let’s Go, Evee!

Release Date: November 16, 2018

Platforms: NS

Meanwhile Nintendo sees your blockbuster franchise entry Bethesda and says hold my joy con and watch this! How about you can play the game with your Switch, your phone, or with an actual MotherF&*king PokeBall?!  It’s the first Switch Pokemon title that’s a mashup of Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Go.

Underworld Ascendant

Release Date: November 15, 2018

Platforms: PC

And another powerhouse franchise throws its hat into the comeback ring this week. This first person RPG is a sequel to Ultima Underworld:The Stygian Abyss.
