New Releases: Week of May 23rd, 2021

So it's a long weekend up here in the Great White North. I use that term as during the May long weekend it inevitably snows somewhere. It's winters last gasp or fart or whatever and it sucks. Sometimes we get off lucky but more often than not...nope. It also marks the start of yard work season around the houseosoup. This year we had to pull a concrete stump from a broken fence post out and replace the post and rebuild the fence on either side (done and done). We had to chop a tree down and remove the fence panel it was growing into. (Done and done) We have to remove the tree stump...not done. I am going to be a hurtin' unit tomorrow I tell ya.

I have also started streaming an hour of Doo 3-4 times a week. I have decided since all the Doom games are now on Game Pass I am going to play them all. I am almost done the original and am having a blast with it! It took a while for me to adjust to the 1993 graphics and gameplay style but once you get into it, it just keeps being awesome.

There are a bunch of games this week so lets see what's on tap and what might be your next awesome game!

King of Seas
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One
Release Date: May 25th, 2021

When I saw this I immediately thought "This looks Sea of Theives-y". Not that that's a bad thing but I am not a huge fan of online co-op games. Then I watched the trailer and I think its more Diablo with boats. Again, not a bad thing but I will admit I am intrigued now. If I don't have to sail the actual ship and just point and click and away it sails...well that's my kind of sailing game.

Biomutant
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Xbox one
Release Date: May 25th, 2021

An open world action role playing game with robots and what looks like a mutant raccoon person/avatar. I get a Fall out meets Legend of Zelda kind of vibe here. Watch the trailer and tell me I'm wrong?

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar - Stormground
Platforms:
PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One
Release Date: May 27th, 2021

There is a store in the largest mall in town that sells all sorts of D&D and Warhammer sets and others like it. They have games nights and I always see guys huddled around a table. I have always had interest in those type of games but never anyone to play with or lead me through...because I have never played. I even feel overwhelmed in the video game versions of these like I should have some sort of backstory memorized. Especially with Warhammer as there seems to be so many offshoots I don't know what is "really" Warhammer and what isn't.
