New Releases: Week of March 4, 2018


I’ve weathered the weird New England storm that felt a lot more like a hurricane than nor ‘easter. We’ve still got power so here’s the new video game lineup this week. It has something for everyone including VR, kids, indie, and AAA fans.

VR really ups the first person shooter experience. The game features both single player and co-op online modes.


Fear Effect SEDNA

Release Date: March 6, 2018

Platforms: PS4, PC, XBO, NS


Fear Effect SEDNA  was developed by indie studio Sunshee with a little help from Kickstarter and the Square Enix Collective. It’s the third in the series known for strong characters and storytelling, sex, and violence. This title switches things up a bit to an isometric perspective to focus more on tactics and action.


Scribblenauts Showdown

Release Date: March 6, 2018

Platforms: NS, PS4, XBO


Clearly I picked the image that had both a monkey AND a pirate! This is the first Scribblenauts title to come to Sony and Microsoft consoles. It’s a party game for up to 4 players where your weapons are words that come to life. You can also create your own levels since that’s what they kids seem to be all about these days.

This is a comedy adventure game from the makers of Machinarium.  Listening to the trailer it also sounds a lot like Raving Rabbids. It’s got lots of humor and puzzles and in inexplicable lust for cherries.


Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Release Date: March 8, 2018

Platforms: PC (Consoles come some time this year)


This is a sequel to the popular original and continues with first person co-op. You can choose from 5 different characters and 15 different careers.
