New Releases: Week of March 18th, 2018

This has been a nasty week at the house of soup. Furnace decided not to work (managed to just get the motor replaced as opposed to whole furnace), the bulb in my projector is on its last legs so I had to order a new one, and my receiver decided to go south. Luckily Onkyo knew about the issue and provides a rebate if I buy a new one. Looks like possibly $300 according to what I see on their website so I am sending the form in and crossing my fingers. I know this is the universe trying to balance out the good things that happened (I bought a 2017 Focus RS!) so I hope it's done...please universe be done!

Lets take a look what the week has in store for us.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue Remastered

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One

Release Date: March 20th, 2018

Oh dear lord! Seriously, another week, another re-release that has been remastered. You can relive the Rogue story line in 4K glory on the Xbox One X or PS4 Pro. Beyond the eye candy you get two bonus missions, and some extra content to dress up your assassin of the assassins. So if you don't have enough to play and you want to rebuy a game you played a few years ago...well I still can't recommend Rogue. It had sailing and I just hated sailing.

Sea of Thieves
Platforms: PC, Xbox One
Release Date: March 20th, 2018

I got into the beta for Sea of Thieves but every time I tried playing either people would drop out or get punted by the server and I would be alone. Sailing the ship by myself is not fun. I kept running into storms and dying. Yes I know I could turn and avoid the storms but it was the easiest way to end my pain. What I could play by myself reminded me a little of Monkey Island (good thing) and a lot of AC: Black Flag (a bad thing - I still hate that game). Maybe if I actually played with a crew Sea of Thieves would be the fun time it seems everyone else is having. I mean, it is a Rare game so I am pretty much obliged to play it...I just hope its good...

Attack on Titan 2
Platforms: PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One
Release Date: March 20th, 2018

If you are familiar with the Japanese manga series Attack on Titan, I am not sure if you will enjoy this game or not. The reason I say that is I showed the trailer to my AoT loving daughter and she just kept explaining "No! That's Wrong! It's so wrong!" When I asked her for clarification on what was wrong she walked away, threw her hands in the air and said "everything". She's 13 so take that her opinion with a teenaged grain of salt.

A Way Out
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: March 23rd, 2018

Made specifically for co-op play, A way out is a tale of revenge and a prison break but the catch is it can ONLY be played in split screen co-op mode. So find a family member, a friend online or become uber ambidextrous! I don't want to go much deeper than that other than to say watch the trailer below to get a feel for what this game is.
