New Releases: Week of January 17th, 2021

Twenty-Twenty-one Y'all! We made it out of 2020 but sadly not out of the woods. I know that sounds dire but the bright side is we have a lot of video games to keep us busy. Between Steam Sales, PS Plus, Game Pass, Sales on GOG and Green Man gaming we have so much opportunity to play games and for pretty cheap too! Remember the days of renting video games and video game systems? So we can't really rent systems anymore but there are so many options to play games for either free or pretty close to free we should be able to keep ourselves busy for months!

I know I have talked about that before but between trying my hand at streaming, work, continuing to learn to code I sometimes get lost in the abundance of games I have at my disposal. What an awesome problem to have!

If you are bored of the games you have or your backlog looks too daunting to dig into I have got something new for you!

Hitman 3
Release Date:
January 20th, 2021
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Ok so maybe this month is not the greatest month to be advertising a game about being a Hitman for hire with all the shit going on in the states right now but here we are. I know entertainment can't and shouldn't be held responsible for acts committed by idiotic and possibly mentally ill people but its the optics of the thing. It's not like IO Interactive could of imagined all the shit that just happened nor the response but I am wondering if maybe...just maybe...a last minute postponement would have been a good idea. Maybe I am being hypersensitive watching the news lately...even here in Canada the fucktwits have been getting a lot of press. I don't know, maybe pretending I am a Hitman and the targets are these racist, misogynistic, bigoted fucktards will the the catharsis I need.

Already out on Steam, NExT Studios is bringing us an side scrolling action game set in Ancient China. This one has me intrigued and I am loving the different art styles in this. Crossing my fingers for it coming to Game Pass so I can give it a try.

Skul: The Hero Slayer
Release Date
: January 21st, 2021
Platforms: PC

I don't know much about this one but I got Ghosts n' Goblins vibes from it other than the 2 strikes and your dead, please add another quarter mechanic. So many quarters lost to that game...and I don't think I ever passed the first level.
