New Releases: Week of January 10th, 2021

Coffee Memoirs:   Bought more games on Steam sale within the last month than I think I got in a couple of years.  The harvest was ripe, and I didn’t ask for permission from the wife.  I call it Christmas - take 2.  This is something that follows the lack of… we can call it “The Lacking.”  It’s like a real-world horror survival game that is temporarily subsided by the playing of video games and other mundane things to spend our time on.

So, my current plan to survive…I’ve never been big into the highly competitive PVP games but love some good PVE and my list is chockfull of them now.  I was gifted State of Decay 2: Juggernaut edition and had a lot of fun the last couple of days bashing zombie brains and enhancing my base so I can survive.  I actually have more fun playing in other people’s games knowing that I can slack a bit, remove some heads from shoulders and run over zombies with other people’s vehicles without having to foot the repair tool kit bill.

Some skippable rants I wrote before I knew what I was going to talk about but still like to talk about… hydras were supposedly creatures from myths that when a head was cutoff another one would grow back in its place.  Were they real?  There seems to be enough references to them in lore.  Like dragons which were probably just dinosaurs that happened to exist during the same timeframe as man, but they did not want to admit it.  So, they became two different things.  Or ancient carvings in stone that showcase a dino during a time that they should have been extinct?  Why are we fed these narratives anyhow?  How many other things are questionable?

I derailed my own train… the hydra thing was 2020 but seriously, why?  Because.  Because why?  Keep your minds clear and don’t drink any ole’ Kool-Aid.  The cake is a lie people.  Find your own recipes, find out what all the ingredients are that are going into something and be informed.  Be kind, rewind.  Hugs not drugs, optional.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Core Collection

Platforms: PS4, XBO, Switch

Originally made in 2014, it looks like this game was breathed some new life and can be found for free at least on pc already.  Security guard at a pizza place that features a band of creepy animatronics.  Can you survive for 5 nights?  Looks like a great reason to get an education and work in a different field.

2.5D Beat em up that loosely follows nothing but the characters first impression.  Reminds me of an extra flashy anime streets of rage game with some cool boss shenanigans.
