New Releases: Week of December 4th, 2022

A day late and a dollar short. yeah I know I'm late. I can blame it on Vampire Survivors. It would be a bit of a lie but I can do it. It's so good! It is the epitome of "ok...one more time!" The question is: "Why is a game where all you do as the player is move, so damn much fun?" The balance, the progression, the in level and permanent powerups...just so many things are done so right in that game.

Looking at this week's offering, there is one new release and...well....thats about it.

Hello Neighbor 2
Release Date:
December 6th, 2022
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, XSX/S

There is this series on Netflix called "The Toys that made us" that I have been watching when I have nothing else to do. They bring the viewer back to the 80's, early 90's, where as kids and even 20-year olds, you had to have the cool toys that went with your favorite cartoons. Looks like tinyBuild is taking a page from that playbook as along with Hello Neighbor 2, Hello Neighbor: Welcome to Raven Brooks (animated series) will be released on Youtube. The pilot garnered 11 million views apparently, but that was 2 years ago. Will the the game bolster views? Will the series bolster game sales? I am actually kind of curious to find out.

That is it for new releases as far as I can tell. There is one other interesting title that is releasing on a, one could argue, a completely different platform. The Rumble Fish 2 is a Japanese fighting game that has been around in arcades in Japan since 2005. It will be launching on Consoles and PC on December 8th. I think there was a ROM you could sideload for Dreamcast but that doesn't count.

Remember when arcade games, when they got ported to a console, just sucked? Now, consoles are likely more powerful that the brains inside the arcade cabinets. Do arcade cabinets even get made anymore? I forsee a google rabbit hole in my future, but for now, enjoy your week and go play Vampire Survivors...trust me.
