New Releases: Week of April 2, 2017

I’m writing this on April Fools Day but I won’t make you do your research and source verifying. These games are all coming out this week (well assuming wikipedia and some cross referencing is a credible source #journalism).  If you like shooters this is a good week for you. It’s also my favorite kind of new release week where I am rewarded for slogging through lists of games by finding a new point- and-click adventure I completely missed that looks pretty awesome.

This third person shooter/brawler gets its unique art style from the imagination of a fictional bored high school student. To entertain himself through boring classes he doodles this crazy comic style world to life. Drawn to Death is by David Jaffe of Twisted Metal fame so expect lots of secret interesting weapons.

Lego City Undercover

Release Date: April 4, 2017

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBone, NS

I played this on WiiU back in 2013. It was a lot of fun, one of the few Lego games we played all the way through. Four years later it's coming modern consoles with the addition of co-op play.

Paradigm

Release Date: April 5, 2017

Platforms: PC

Woohoo for new point-and-click adventure games. This one is set in post-apocalyptic eastern Europe with surrealist elements like a slot who vomits candy and a secratary knight. Looks like it will have punny jokes and interesting art. I will be picking this up on launch day! Very sad I missed the Kickstarter and can't get it on a floppy disk.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition

Release Date: April 7, 2017

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBone

This update to the original was showcased at PAX East this year. Moar graphics is the main draw of this updated version as it supports 4K resolution on PS4 or PC.  It includes all previous DLC, new maps, and a new campaign mode on top of the original game.  There’s also a pre-order bonus from participating retailers where you can play through the campaign as Duke Nukem with full voice acting.  And it didn’t even take FOREVER to come out!
