New Releases: Week of April 14th, 2019

When did it become April? I know, smart ass, 14 days ago but still I keep thinking it's March. I am actually pretty bummed as this year the house o'soup will not be going to the Calgary Comic Expo this year. Now that its April the expo is right around the corner but admission has become too damn expensive. Even though Michael J. Fox and the cast of Back to the Future will be there I can't justify the $200 to enter and the $175 for the picture for just MJF. Instead we are heading to Avengers: Endgame on that Saturday which by the time all the popcorn is bought is 1/4 of the price.

On a completely different topic, I am thinking of updating my PC with a 1TB SSD. I have a 250GB SSD as my primary right now and 3TB of separate drives so I am thinking of consolidating. Just to see if I get any bites on this...anyone have a preference? Samsung? WD? ADATA? Other?

As for "new" games this week there are a few and one released on a different platform.

World War Z
Release Date: April 16th, 2019
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One

Ever since Left for Dead I can't play zombie games. Not that I don't want to, they just scare the living shit out of me* while I am playing and then I can't go to sleep for hours afterwards. Especially when you heard the widow crying. That weeping noise creeped me out the worst I think. It soured me on Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2. World War Z looks like a combination of L4D and Dead Rising with 4 player co-operative gameplay and a shit ton of zombies!

My Time at Portia
Release Date:
April 16th, 2019
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One

I am going to be brutally honest here. I have no idea what the hell this game is. The genre is listed as Sandbox which I guess means whatever the hell they want to do. I know it is NOT what I want to do but then again I doubt I am the audience for My Time at Portia.

Anno 1800
Release Date:
April 16th, 2019
Platforms: PC

Blue Byte is taking you back in time with their latest city building title. After releasing both Anno 2070 and Anno 2205, Anno 1800 is throwing you back into the industrial revolution in Europe. The usual mechanics are here but I am sure there is going to be some kind of plague or lack of sewer facilities or child labor issues you are going to have to deal with. Have fun!

Cuphead
Release Date:
April 18th, 2019
Platforms: Switch

Ready to make a deal with the devil? Ready to throw those switch controllers across the room? If you said "Yes!" to both of those do I have the game for you! I love the art style, I love the gameplay.....I hate that it kicks my ass so hard...over and over....and over again! Still awesome though!
