Witch Doc Build

So  Iam running a WD and it has been going okay.  Wondering on what stats I should focus on for gear.

I will have to get some pics of my current gear when i get home.

I'm Level 59.  My health is around 40k and damage is about 4500.

Skills: I have been doing the all out blitz build.  I spam my 4 hot key spells to trigger Vision Quest the passive that allows me to regain mana at 300%.  This in turns allows me to spam Zombie Bears at 236% weapon Damage. With Spirit Walk allowing 15% mana regain and BBV at 20% Mana Regan, i can really go to town spamming high cost mana spells.

So with a build like this, does it make sense to focus on Intelligence and Vitality on gear ( which i have been trying to do) or should I start looking at getting my critical % and damage up?  They sit at 6.5% chance and 50% damage.

Any suggestion would be helpful.

The only viable WD build for the late game is to focus on Bears.  You'll want to look for stuff that gives you extra mana, decreases mana cost of bears, increases mana recharge.  Then in general any gear I got i looked for +intelli , +critical hit change and + critical hit damage.

For spells on my mouse i'd have bears and spirit walk.  then on my numbers i had 1=zombie arms or whatever that was called 2=spirit harvest     3=big bad voodoo 4=fetish army

For passives i had 20% less damage, 300% mana recharge when 4 powers are on cooldown (allows you to spam bears) and 20% extra mana.

Then what you do is use 1 and 2 with bears when you're fighting small groups.  But if you run into elites, bosses, rares or mobs you want to throw out your 3 and 4 becaus they take 2 minutes to recharge.  That puts two powers on recharge for two minutes and then spam 1 and 2 while you're holding left mouse button to throw out bears.

It's a complicated fighting style and i'll admit, it took a bit for my brain to wire to fighting this way.  There's a lot more micro management overhead to your thought process in battle to make this work well but if you can adjust, Bears is the only way to go late game with WD.

Either that or you you just don't play as a WD is suppose to and you do a barbarian build, heavy armor and resistances and go melee.

Thanks Tank, yeah its the same idea i was running except i was using spirit walk instead of the grasp slow down spell.  I saw some people on the diablo forums talking about using the WD as a Tank, but i enjoy letting other cretures do my work.

THe only other late game build was high IAS and using splinter darts, but patch 1.03 made that build worthless.

Poos was helping me lastngiht get my resists all jacked up now that i am level 60.  I have them all above 500, I get a good amount of health on hit and thorns is pretty high.  In act 3-4 on hell diff and I was barely getting touched.

Switch my skills out since I need more hits to keep the health flowing in.  Using firebomb with the level 60 rune and the acid rain. Haunt is helping too.  My health is down to a max of 30k from 55k, but with the resists up and the health on hit i was staying alive a lot longer then before.

Ya i had gone the resist route but on Inferno unless you've over 1000 in each, it doesn't do you that much good in my opinion.  That was about the time I decided to build for bears and favored the other thigns I mentioned over resistances.     It's been weeks since i've played so i'm not totally sure where my stats were but I think i was around 35k health 1200 mana, 1500 intelli, 25% chance on criticals -4 mana cost on bears, +13% recharge for mana which stacks with the +300% recharge time when four spells are on recharge.  I think my armor was in the 5000's somewhere.

You're still in hell difficulty though so it's a lot more survivable than inferno.
