A vs X

Which team do you stand with?

I know I'm loyal to the X-Men, always will be. Really looking forward to this story line. I know Marvel's burned us before with this crossover business but the preview art has me pretty psyched for this clash of heroes.

X-Men were the first comic I've ever read, but there aren't really X-Men anymore, thanks to the schism. Notice Wolverine attacking Emma Frost in the picture. I bet the school sides with the Avengers at first, but then pulls a Spider-Man in the Civil War and flips to the side of the X-Men. I predict Hope will merge with the Phoenix Force and fight the Scarlet Witch at the climax, and with a huge explosion of power, both will be nearly killed, but the mutant race will be restored. I'm not basing this on anything, just the best way to end the event and House of M.

These are both my favorite teams and I have been out of the stories for over 2 years. But I might come back just to pick up this series. What is the premise for the battle?

Hope is the first mutant born since M Day, where the Scarlet Witch went nuts and knocked the mutant race down from hundreds of thousands to around 200. Hope was sent into the future with Cable until she was ready to survive in the modern day. Last year she returned in Second Coming. Since its resolution, the Phoenix Force has been sighted coming for her. The Avengers want to kill Hope and the Phoenix to protect humanity. The X Men want to protect her, not only because she's a mutant, but also in hopes that she may actually be able to control the Phoenix Force, unlike Jean Grey before she died. The X Men have been cut in two groups too, with Cyclops leading a military team, and Wolverine leading a school as Charles Xavier always intended. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Avengers X Sanction #4 was a great lead in to this series. Not going to spoil it so be sure to pick it up.

But this now has me thinking about something that will obviously come up in A vs X. Which team will Wolvie side with? I've always thought him being on the Avengers didn't make any sense. If his loyalties don't force him to side with the X-Men I'm going to be pretty pissed off. "Don't forget your roots" and all that.

Issues 0 and 1 weren't anything special, but I'm certain its going to be a great story arc. I'm going to pick up issue 2 today.

I can not fucking stand his art style! I get angry when I see blocky heads lacking in detail. I'm not saying I expect Carnage USA style detail, but when I see anything drawn by him I become furious. Note: I am a huge fan of both Hellboy, so it's not that I hate alternative styles, I just fucking hate when he draws The Avengers.

you sir are not alone, i think it was the daredevil mini that did it for me. i now see his work as firmly planted in the miller style and wouldn't want to see it proliferate comics or anything, but i think it meshes great with these "talking head" books done in the mighty bendi.....i mean marvel way. however i can certainly see why he bothers folks so much.

It's been a great story so far. Anyone hear of Marvel doing a reboot similar to DC's new 52? My friend heard a rumor, and i have mixed feelings about them doing that.

I am equal parts thrilled, scared and pissed for this whole Marvel Now! business. That said, can't wait to read it. No idea where they are going with bringing the "original 5" back from the past.

I never finished the series. I think I got up to 7 or 8. Is it worth finishing?

I really enjoyed the AvsX Event. It is the first time I was in a position (financially) to pick up the whole series AND all the side stories in the main books. There are many books total taking place during the event (near 100) Titles include: Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, X-Men Legacy, and Wolverine & The X-Men. The following list incorporates the whole main story.

Spoiler-free commentary, I'm pretty happy with the ending. Marvel always builds up better than they resolve and the same can be said here. Im excited for the (over due) shake up on the X-Men side. Even when I think their ideas are nuts (the original 5 returning) once I read it it all makes sense.

I'm trying to find a lot of these issues, to get caught up. A lot of the new series are going into some interesting arcs, based off of how much that storyline affected their lives.

I got  the AvsX hardcover, it's a beatuiful book, and a good series, it also has the Vs series and a few other. So far with the new stuff, Avengers, New X-Men, and Uncanny Avengers are amazing....I've heard good things about Thor and the 2nd X-force book looks to be a bit of an old school throw back, the cover at least is AWESOME.

I agree sfw55! All-New X-Men has been really good, and focuses on Wolverine's X-Men and the original X-Men from the past trying to stop this month's new Uncanny X-Men series and it will focus on Cyclops and Magneto's X-Men. It also deals with the new emerging mutant population, thanks to the events of A vs X.

Uncanny Avengers has been one shocking issue after another, what they did Prof. X was one of the worst things I've ever read in a comic to such a highly regarded character. Deadpool and Indestructible Hulk have both been really great also, I just got the new Uncanny X-Force issue when it dropped the other day but haven't had a chance to read it yet, but heard it's pretty cool too.

I've really been enjoying all the baby variant covers, the Savage Wolverine one is still my favorite so far, but anythime I see one I have to buy it, lol.
