Upcoming DLC, including a confirmed level cap increase date.

There's 3 upcoming dlc's one you'll be very interested in

Producer James Lopez said in Official Playstation magazine that we'll see a level cap increase by the end of the 1st quarter which closes at the end of March. Lopez also said the increase will add quite a few levels that will allow you to play for quite a bit longer.

Randy has said over the course of the past few weeks, that early this year they will release a type of level cap increase dlc seperate from the season pass, and for now at least is supposed to be free. It will add a new option for a 3rd playthough, and through this they will increase level/character progression. He's stated they don't want to do just a simple level cap increase and wanna make something unique and they're waiting for the right time to release it, since only 16% of players even have a level 50 character.

There's a new skin pack coming out on the 22nd this month called the "Gardenia Skin Pack", it hasn't been said if it will be free or charged. It will have 3 heads and skins for all 5 players, most of which don't really look that great or different. There's a few heads that are neat, but nothing that makes me want to buy it right away. Below I'll post a link leading to pics of all the outfits and heads.

Today, which is what made me type this topic, Randy replied to someone on his twitter today that we'll see a 6th character dlc this year. He previously said they were looking into, but today he pretty much confirmed it. Someone asked if it was true a 6th character is coming out in 2013, to which Randy replied "magic eight ball says:outlook good"

Level cap increase and storage increase are pretty much the two things people hvae been asking for since shortly after the game launched.  If they're going to make it a non-season pass FREE download them i'm in but if they think it's ok to hold off that stuff until the season pass expires and then charge for it, thats not gonna fly with me and BL2 will promptly be traded.

I saved a lot of side missions on TVHM and the DLCs for the level cap increase.  Not sure i really want to play thru the game again a 3rd time.  Also Feb/March/APR is really a sucky time to release this, we're basically looking at the winter season of video game releases coming those months as everyon tries to get their shit out with plenty fo time before the new consoles.  I personally think they've waited too long to get the level cap increase out.  Sure only 16% of people might have a level 50 character but what percentage of those people are still playing?  If you look at the active community i imagine out of them, probably 80% or more have oen level 50 character.  The rest have lost interest in the game and moved on.

Well, according to a tweet by Randy, he doesn't view leveling as important. He recently told someone on twitter, that if they're playing to level up, that they should instead focus on just enjoying the gameplay and world, that leveling should just be a means to an end. Considering the world is full of pretty much dead people, as in none of them ever really have anything of interest to say, it's pointless, and these new dlc storylines just aren't interesting. He then proceeded to tell like 3 more people that day if they didn't like his game they should just make a better one then. A guy called him childish for his response and Randy blocked him. He responds to every issue, with lets see you do better, and really makes me think he's not very mature.

I get he loves posting all the people who sing his praise, and love every single detail of the game, but blind fanboys of any title are just idiots who will never push you to be better. Honestly, they could have made all 4 dlc episodes, expansions of the main story. They could have all been on one or multiple planets, opening up new vaults. 2 games on pandora is nice, but we've explored pretty much all it has to offer, and with the dlc saying it takes place after the campaign, why are we still here? At the end of the main story, we were dividing the vaults, so let's go get them!

I guess the whole "16% of players have a level 50 job" thing explains why there is 2 dozen used copies of BL2 on the local Gamestop's shelf. Why keep playing? The 3 downloads they got now are nice but without level cap increase, there is nothing to do. The raid bosses have NOTHING that outclases what I already use. Maybe if there was mission specific gear but that is usually a waste too.

If killing the hordes of guys with a buddy wasn't as fun as it is, I would have gotten rid of the game by now. The loot is disapointing given the game is a looter with randomly generated loot. I am completly confused with "people should focus on gameplay and the world". The world is little more than wall paper. It is there for you to walk by, on your way to kill the next guy who has the promise of possibly dropping something a teensy bit better than what you are already using.

His opinion of leveling needs to be corrected.  The POINT of playing the game is character progression and collecting.  This latest DLC didn't do shit for either, there's nothing in this DLC worth picking up if you have the best gear from the rest of the game and just to kick you in the nuts, every mission you finish is 20k of XP Wasted.  No RPGer (well for that matter, FPSr too) likes seeing XP go to waste.

But Randy thought Duke Nuk'em was good to so I have to wonder about what angle he's looking at stuff from O_o
