Unofficial GEARBOX Borderlands Community Game Night - TODAY! October 5th!

This was posted over at the Gearbox site. Anyone going to try and do this?

As Promised, your Moderators are taking initiative and organizing unofficial community events and game nights. These are put together so that veterans and new community members alike can meet up, get to know one another and overall expand their co-op circles.

We are inviting everyone to these nights. The goal here is to see lurkers join up and get involved. To see veterans take up big brother/sister roles. It doesnt matter if you have 0 posts or 11,000 posts, we're all here for the same reason.

So without further explaination. Our first planned bi-monthly game night will be....

Unofficial Borderlands Community Game Night
Meet and Greet!
Friday October 5th 5pm-2:30am EST (2pm-11:30pm PST)
*5pm-2:30am GMT*

*We wanted a separate early start time for our European users to get in on the fun.
**The American start times are simultaneous. Also we wanted to give users 2ish weeks to dive into the game and get comfortable before we did an event (incase you wondered)

Whats the Goal This week?
The Goal for October 5th is for players to meet new players. No real structured Objectives. Hop on your Top leveled characters. Hop on new characters. Farm loot. Farm badass ranks. Talk about your experiences. Or just sit in voice chat making fart jokes and generally have a good time.

How do I get involved?
Glad you asked. There are a number of ways to find groups for game nights. I'll list a few. Keep in mind there wont be any grouping priority. I dont want this to get cliquey. The goal is for people to play with people theyve not played with prior to. So pregrouping wont really take place.

1) The first and easiest way to be put into a co-op group is to jump into the Unofficial Borderlands Community Voice chat during the hours of the game night. Follow the directions linked HERE to connect and hop into the "Vault Hunters Lounge". A chat officer will set you up with members of your respective platform. We have a lot of members from the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Also be aware that if you do not have a PC, there are mobile clients for mumble on iOS and Android. Note to European users; We have a lot of European users, and this option of grouping will be your best bet for finding groups as your play time starts much earlier than the American play times, though there is some overlap in the hopes of us playing together.

2) Contact a platform ambassador on the night of the event through your respective platform's communication method (XBL, PSN, STEAM). If you would like to volunteer as an ambassador for game nights, please private message me!

Listed below are the platform usernames of ambassadors (Steam ID, PSN, Gamertag)

PC
Gothalion
Kzboy
Psychichazard

Xbox 360
Mr Grenader222
Kaleidodemon

PS3
BaddestAznNinja

3) Lastly, and this is likely the least efficient way to get grouping during the community game night, post a message in this thread the night of. A cattle call of sorts.

Awesome, Im super excited. What else?!
-Before the event I would love people to post in this thread, with ideas for ingame activities. As this game night is unstructured and mostly a meet and greet
-After the game night, it is highly encouraged that you post in this thread with your experiences from the game night. Who did you meet? What did you do? Will you attend the next game night? What future structures would be fun for these events? Stuff like that!

PS3 Season Pass to be given out!

If you would like to enter to win the season pass. Please send an email with your forum username to Borderlandscommunity@gmail.com

I was expecting gearbox devs to be involved with this but it sounds like it's just a get together for forums.gearboxsoftware.com people. Not as interested as i would be if the devs were involved.
