it was a lot of fun and traffic made it almost impossible to gain a spot with everyone running about the same lap times

I hit a 1:51.6 on lap five chasing down Anubis but then went back to my 1:52. and even hit a 1:53 when emezmer used his mind tricks on me  ( lol ! )

DBrown ( FR sent ) you got lucky starting at the front and with no traffic to deal with you had a nice lead, congrats on the WIN

Awesome race guys.  No cautions and no wrecks especially with the full sim enabled.

I was chasing Rusty for a bit, and then he had an unfortunate wheel shutoff.  I then made a mistake in one of the turns, and Xsitement caught up and passed me blush.

Car was great to handle, very predictable.

Thanks Kochino.  Looked like starting in second was the trick.  Everyone close behind me crashed on the first corner (funny no caution though).  It took me quite a few laps to get by Anubis, but he had the handicap on the straight.  I should have taken the first handicap too I think since I was doing mid 1:51's from the time I passed Anubis into first.  Maybe would have made the race less like hot laps.  Lots of fun getting past Anubis though. It doesn't happen often (or maybe ever before) See you next week.

It's good to know that I'm in your head now Kochino!  Haha.

Yet another fine race fellas.  I had one hell of a time getting past Slim, and having Jimmee on my ass for the first half of the race made it that much more nervewracking.  I finally got into a groove after I got past him, and was making a good push towards Kochino, but  I was running out of laps and pushed a little too hard on the last lap which when coupled with a good lap by Kochino, left me a good ways back from him.

Congrats DBrown on the win.  Savor the flavor buddy.

On a side note, I wonder if it might work better if we used a random grid for the race.  I only ask because it seems like the guys that are practicing in the lobby early might get a bad shake compared to those that enter at the last minute and are placed towards the front of the grid.  Just a thought.

Everything went downhill after that...  It was my worst finish ever.  sad

Agreed.  Don't worry about slow pokes like me, just make it fair for everyone.

my reason for the grid order is to give the "slow poke" drivers a chance and to make the "not so slow poke" drivers work their way to the front

with a random race start the "slow pokes" don't have a chance at least this way they battle for the first ~5 laps

"slow pokes" are slow because they make mistakes, braking or cornering and this gives them a chance to be in the mix

if emezmer got pole and I got last spot who would he battle with and there goes all my fun  : )

I can't control the late people but once in a group they will start in front of that group not the front of the pack or we lock the room at 10:15 pm

now with that said if the group wants to do away with group and lobby order and go to random starts then I'm good, I just do it this way to make the first 5 laps a little bit more interesting before the "not so slow pokes" run away

Same reason why we take away the HP from the fast guys

plus what I'm trying to accomplish is door to door racing at least for the first ~5 laps as I notice that after lap 6 people tend to spread out and if you noticed the fast guys end up at the front or close to it be the end of the race

Our races are 10-20 laps so they are not long

discuss : )

These are great reasons and also why Parcells dont want Kochino to change anything. My initial two race results haven't been terribly rememberable but I've had some damn fun in both races. One of these weeks I'm gonna get by you Jimeez so watch out buddy!

More importantly we are running MV short reverse this week right?

EDIT - Fixed your typo

What ever you decide on the lobby works for me.  I may have said something about guys coming in late and getting an upfront starting position, but it is all in fun. It gives me someone to chase.

I agree that the reverse order grid should work, it just seems like there is just one or two guys that escape the system and have a hotlapping session.  For me I know that I do enjoy having to battle with the guys and put a little bit of heat on you to get past.  I mean that IS one of the reasons that I came over to 2O4F, to get better at my racecraft and not simply be a "hotlapper".

My thinking was simply that if everyone properly handicaps themselves that it really shouldn't matter what position that you start in because it'll be door to door regardless.  I think the best solution is one that Forza doesn't provide, and that would be if we could set the grid ourselves manually, but that's not there so we have to use what we've got.

So, in the end, I think that you have a great series going on here and I don't want to go messing about with a system that works properly the majority of the time.  If it aint broke don't fix itwink

What we can do... is all of us exit the lobby and I create a new one that way everyone is set to 0 lobby points and the grid will be random with group order This will work and then the smart guys that show up late or exit and come back in will lose that advantage, those bastards. ; ) Problem solved

I'm one of the inconsistent drivers so even if I get pole, I'll loose a couple of positions as the race goes on.  To me, either way is fine.

Just entered my seed time for MV short reverse. Newman! I'll just go with my established handicap and see how it works out.

I ran a few laps to get my seed times before supper.  I ran MV short reverse too.  Maybe the Maritimers are retarded or something.  I'm guessing I should be around 1:50 or so.

Did someone put a lead weight in the back of my car or something?  The best that I've been able to manage is a 1:53, and I see that there are 50's and 49's for seed times...

Something is afoot hereindecision

Tried MV tonight for the 1st time, I kept looking in the mirror to see how long the trailer was that I was towing, laps were 1:58

We'll show you new lines that will shave off 2 seconds easily

I'm sure the fast guys are willing to share their lines with you, I had to steal the lines from imjimeez   wink last night and I shaved 2 sec

I showed them to Roadcarver and he also shaved off time and will be handicapped tonight cheeky

Don't know about those 50's surprise.  Ran with some of the guys last night and best was a low 51 by track.  I was in the 52-3 range.

I put down a 1:50. but I must have been dreaming becuase the best I can do was 1:55 till I followed imjimeez  lines and now I'm at 1:53~54's

Almost broke into the 1:52's but it wasn't meant to be

My ProAm settings got me a 1:54~55's

“This is cool. I can see the track through Surfs windshields. I think I can pull this off.”

That was Parcells thought process when I wrecked on lap 9 last night a mere inches behind Surf. Turns out I couldn’t pull it off but it was fun trying. My instincts knew it was a bad idea but you gotta live from time to time no?

Anyway, another fun mid-pack race for Parcells. Surf and I had some awesome side by side battles with a couple position changes to boot. Great racing Surf !!!!
