A lot of countries aren't getting the console because their governments have anti-DRM laws and privacy laws that would be violated by Xbone policies or the Kinect functionality.

Xbox One will not be available at launch in Somalia retail locations. I apologize to all affected but just wanted you to know this piece of news.
Also, people speak different languages and even if there are no such laws or policy restrictions, it still might not be there at launch.
Additionally, region free is different than launching in a country or territory.
Otherwise, why would Sony have specified countries and regions for launch while also mentioning its region free?
