Surfing pictures are amazing. As someone who occasionally surfs, surfing to me means splashing around in 4 feet of freezing cold water on a grey day until I start to lose feeling in my legs and give up.
Sounds like trout fishing here cept it's usually in 1 - 2 feet of water and 60 to 90 minutes is all you can stand. Of course you usually limit out before that.
hahaha! I know what you're saying. Unfortunately Sept. and Oct. is when you'll find some of the best waves for East coasters. Hurricanes in the south push swells up the coast. Funny. The water temp is somewhat tolerable its the cold dry air that gets you.

I do remember the storms and the saltwater foaming like a wahing machine and the foam blowing up the beach and across A1A. Everyone leaving and the crazy ass surfers going the other way...
