These two things happened on the same planet...

...to the same fucking species.

Higgs Boson Particle discovered..."some commentators have labeled the "God particle", for its role in turning the Big Bang into a living universe....The Higgs theory explains how particles clumped together to form stars, planets and life itself. Without the Higgs boson, the universe would have remained a formless soup of particles shooting around at the speed of light, the theory goes."

A veto by North Carolina’s Democratic governor was overridden Monday night because a Democrat in the state House cast the deciding vote, by accident.

Just after the vote, Carney’s voice could be heard on her microphone, saying, “Oh, my gosh. I pushed green.”

Because of Carney’s blunder, a fracking bill that Gov. Beverly Perdue had vetoed is now law.

A CERN scientist and a North Carolina and a Democrat have roughly the same mass of grey matter in their heads.

*sigh*

North Carolina's government has been amazingly inept in the last couple months.

Yeah, holy shit....what has been going on in North Carolina?  Is it the water that makes people so off?

I'll be there in a couple of days.  I'll ask.

Damn! Is that water even drinkable at that point?

I know that drilling in an area affects the water table greatly. We went to a community meeting held by a geoligist. They were telling us stories about some of the issues we were to expect. One example was someone drilling a well close to your well(neighbor). The new well could lower the water table below your well. Which means you run out of water. Our concern was the area farmers spreading the liquified manure and the state spraying the highways with a liquid ice melter.

No.

Water table is reduced because the chemicals used in fracking need thousands of gallons of water for usage. But it gets worse when there is seepage into the water supply of these chemicals.
