This is an old pic, I remember seeing it a couple years ago but worth seeing it again. Here are Darwin Award candidates trying their hardest. There are at least three people in that pool, not half a brain between them.

Wow, like most efforts of "Redneck Ingenuity" it probably took more time and energy to rig that thing up than the time it saved. It's called a spitting axe, they aren't expensive and really, once you get the hang of it, very fast.
The guys in the pool? Just more proof that for some reason God watches over fools and drunks, It's not even a large enough pool to warrant trying to come up with a solution for. They're literally closer to the side than the middle.
