Suppose to be in the 70's this weekend. First winter in my life that I'm not in Michigan for Christmas. Moved to NC almsot 3 years ago but always went up for Christmas, but not this year.
My brother who lives in Hawaii is married to a Canadian. They're leaving today for two weeks in Canada..he's not happy lol. Their baby has never worn much clothing and I think she has worn shoes once..NEVER socks. I expect texts and calls about extreme boredom and a very angry baby lol
For Xmas I got 1 or more herniated lumbar discs. Found out Friday, MRI after XMAS. New it was coming. Too many back injuries. I don't want to but I may need to ask for some medicinal help with pain to get over the hump as it starts to heal or therapy starts working. I hope a slighty more enjoyable gift will be under the tree Wednesday. Ya know how fun it is gaming standing up or kneeling? It's clear after yesterday that driving isn't going to work out to well anymore. Sucks, kids car has to hit the shop tomorrow and needs a ride, twice. Gotta pick up friend and her daughter going through hard times for xmas, and long ride to and from the best MRI machine in the area. I've been whining that i can't do this sit down job to pay the bills anymore. FIXED! I get to stand or kneel now, ughh!

Oh that sucks!! I'm sorry to hear that. Back injuries are hell. It's going to sound dumb, but I didn't realize how much we use our back to do everything until my mom fractured her spine. Good luck and I hope you have a fast, easy recovery. Take care of yourself and follow doctors orders as best you can. Normally I say "meh what do they know?" But with backs, they seem to be right. Best wishes sent your way.

Sympathies man, I suffer from ostio arthritis and that means constant back pain, was delighted after seeing a specialist and he said it was to far gone for him to do anything and congratulations you just gotta live with it, one of the reasons I moan about the cold and damp so much...
Thanks ZK. I should be fine. My Dr. is really good. His practice has been taking care of my spine and other joints for about 17 years. Glad he is so knowledgeable in other areas too.
Ice is the worst. We have so many heavily wooded areas and the trees coated in ice take out power all the time. I'd rather have 3 feet of snow than a 1/4 inch of ice....they try to keep all the lines clear but the sheer volume of wooded areas to population is way out of whack around here.
That sucks Deep. About 20ish years ago I had the pleasure to go through a bad one. The roads were impassable. Not due to the ice but from the downed trees in the road. Power was out for weeks. Trees and power lines down everywhere.
My area in Nova Scotia is okay, so far. One more bout of freezing rain today and we should be okay. Ontario and Quebec got hit very hard. I suspect today people will be finding out how long they will be without power. My sister-in-law is on a farm northwest of Toronto. No power, no water and with race horses and a few cows.
In the summer...Yes, you could fry an egg on the bloody thing. In the winter...not so much...Oh my god where have all the emotacons gone! That vandal Doodi strikes again.

We were supposed to get freezing rain but didn't.
We got a coating of freezing rain. only enough to start the trees sagging. Other areas were not so lucky. Ontario is all but a disaster right now.
