It's really not that big of a deal, most of those apps require subscription fees unless they have free trails available. So even though you'll be temporarily bumped to gold for that time period, you still can't view the streams without signing up for subscriptions on those services. IT's kind of stupid.

HBO requires gold and a subscription through comcast, satellite provider
ipix and some of those other movie/tv streamers require a gold subscriptoin plus a rental fee for each video you watch
I believe the ESPN app is one of the rare ones on there that just requires gold, no monthly subscription fee. YouTube also just requires a gold subscription.

It really only has value for the silver peeps. They'll be able to get the free trials for apps like netflix, hulu plus, epix
I'm a silver peep but I'm not seeing any value. I'm getting a lot of that stuff for free on my roku.
