International media has more graphic images of this explosion. Makes it much more devastating than it actually seems on regular news.
Apparently they found some explosive devices that never went off. This is good news, they can easily trace materials back to whom ever bought them and where.
I go into Boston a couple times a week but I always make it a point to stay away on Marathon Monday. I was there on Saturday and the city was packed with tourists/runners from all over the country, having a great time sightseeing and obviously just expecting to run the race, go to sleep in their hotels, and go back home without incident.
Maddeningly slow ( it seems, I know expectations and desire to know is unrealistic at this time) getting information! I've seen Pakistan al Qaeda has already denied responsibility for this.
Am I crazy to say why has no one mentioned N Korea as at least a possibility? Much more likely that it's a home grown nut case, but still? And here's another worry bouncing around in my head. Now that this has occurred and attention is off N Korea, what might they do to refocus us on them again? It's quite obvious they want our attention.
And back to the al Qaeda thing, why has there been no announcement claiming responsibility from anyone yet, at least that I know of? Was the perpetrator maybe injured in the act? If you follow this line of thought it's likely a single or small nutcase group and not someone with the ability to make proclamations of reponsibility, IE the more known groups we think of.
Too many questions, a lot of speculation and no answers yet. And I don't want to point a finger without proof, that's the nature of what I do, no conclusions without hard facts, but it doesn't lessen the maddening wait.
Picture 7 8 and 9 indicate possible interaction with the guy in the blue warm up , and the one shot looks like both of them are on the phone? Looks like more than three involved.
Are these the photos everyone's saying no one's releasing to the public??? I've seen reference to the guy in the white cap on the air already, but no one's showing pictures. Also, everyone's speaking of two suspects and clearly there's more above in the shots.

The photos were distributed in a hope that the two could be identified by the public. As JP pointed out one of the two came forward to the police station to clear his name. The boy who came forward said depicted are him and his track coach and they wanted to watch the event. Police no longer consider them suspects after speaking with the teen.
The investigators are still hoping to find the white guy in the last photo to identify him and investigate any possible involvement.
Until they catch the real suspect, this guy will be haunted by this everywhere he goes. I'm sure way more people saw those pictures than the retraction.
Fucking crazy news when I woke up. Just woke up went to the jon and opened my ipad and was like WTF! Got up and turned on the tv.
I just don't know what to believe. They have said the supsects where in a car chase where they where throwing homemade grenades out the car? Just crazy news.
A guy I know from high school lives in Somerville, which is right in the middle of everything that's been happening the last 12 hours. He just posted this on Facebook:

This feels very surreal...late last night I heard explosions and then cars racing as fast as I've heard cars ever go through Somerville and into Cambridge - they passed me as I was watching things on the news! We are all on lockdown. I've never been on lockdown. The T is not running. The streets are barren - there is no one out - it is like a ghosttown or one of those Twlight Zones where you w
ake up and everyone is strangely gone. Outside my house where the park is usually full of children and parents and cars are zipping up and down Somerville Ave....there is just silence. I hope they resolve things as soon and peacefully as possible - one young police officer dead, one suspect dead, and this kid they've got cornered is just 19 years old. It's all terrible.
There are pictures from Boston all over the news sites, and it's just eerie. Even in the middle of the night in the dead of winter, Boston is a very busy town (those who have been to Pax East know this). It's so strange to see the streets without a single car or pedestrian. I was thinking about taking my family into town tomorrow but now I'm reconsidering that!

I'm still here..... waiting to hear from a few friends. They shut down cell towers as a precaution, so it may be some time before people can check in
Prayers to friends and family!!!
WTF is wrong with people/world?!?!?!
I'm here wasn't anywhere near Boston
I feel so bad for the victims. May justice be swift.

Authorities have cautioned the public not to speculate or point fingers, but there is a Saudi Arabian man being questioned. He was injured in the blast. http://www.boston.com/2013/04/16/don-think-could-that-says-roommate-saudi-arabian-man-questioned-marathon-bombings/yLptSSCHm8eAZggooPJhBO/story.html

A little info from the medical respondents on the perceived make up of the explosives.

These are the Reddit photos. Many users came up with this theory and I think the FBI is agreeing. Apparently they want to question these individuals.
"Fill up the plane to Guantanamo boys, we just got two new resrevations for sun in the sun".
The guy in the white hat saw his picture posted all over the internet, and apparently went directly to the police to clear his name:

One suspect dead and one on the run after shootout with police. One officer was killed and another was seriously injured

Last I saw, they had one down and one surrounded inside a house where explosions were heard inside? The latter being the younger brother at 19.

News update

As awful as all this has been, and continues to be.....the media makes it so much worse

The very last line from the CNN reporter made me laugh out loud: "It's eerie, it's like a bomb was dropped somewhere."
I think the word Journalist has expired...
I posted it on facebook, and it's a riot. This is truly what reality TV is supposed to be about. Unwritten, unscripted, unedited live TV...
