2old2retro

2old2play is a great site with lots of different places for people to hang out, share experiences, ideas and good times.  As someone who is into game collecting and retro games I feel that the site is lacking a place to talk about these things. Surely there must be others on here with a similar interest, especially since we’re all old farts!

I’m going to post this in a few different forums and if I get some enough positive feedback I’ll propose that we either create a 2old2retro group or at the least have a forum thread devoted to all things retro.

With all the good old games being resurrected and released on formats like PSN, XBL and phones now is the time to look forward to the past!

I use emulators regularly, it allows me to play classic games or games I never had the opportunity to play growing up. I think some of them even allow online play, pretty sure that's the case for genesis and snes emulators.

Great idea anyway.

I'll be part of it from day one.

I still need the multiplayer achievements for Doom on XBL!

Thanks guys, if I get a couple more people interested I'll go ahead. What do you think, group or thread?

Thread in my opinion,  retro gaming should garner a huge interest amongst site members but in casual way.

I'm in for multiplayer, and I have a friend that would be interested too.

Retro is a pretty enourmous "genre".  You can get a bunch of people together who all like old games with only a few favorites in common.

Lately I've been playing Syndicate, Master of Orion, and Choplifter (arcade version).

True, but half the fun of retro is just talking about games and sharing experiences.

You could still make it a group. Do what Gman30 did with The Co-Op Syndicate and make it a group that open to everyone.

That way if a particular thread is started on a game that some people are interested in they could drop comments on that and nothing else.

What Gman30 did was a great move, he instantly grabbed everyone's attention by creating the most open group ever. I have only one question about this, is it possible to create sub-forums in a group/clan? Obviously I'm asking this because retro gaming is a such a huge and diverse topic, we'll need to have some structure in it.

Is Bad Company 2 considered retro? I'm up for that.

I love the retro sig E!

Okay I'll suggest a group open to everyone. I dont want to exclude anyone and can see that people will want to drop in and out depending on what threads are active.

Ok its set up now as an open group. You apply and are instantly approved. I dont know about sub groups or sub forums yet it will take me a while to find my way around too!

Is that a new golden axe?  I got the original on live years ago for 400.  That's still one of my favorite arcade games of all time.

if i read it correctly, it comes with GoldenAxe1,2 and 3. the other Sega Collection is for Streets of Rage, and its all 3 of those as well. both collections are 800ms points apiece. im assuming that both will have local and online multi, i havent read anywhere confirming this, but seriously why even release it if its not?

Oh ok.  I never had any interest in GA 2 or 3 so I'll stick with what I've got.  The original on Live does have online multiplayer so I'd assume all in the collection will.

I've seen that collection on sale on disk in my local Gamestop, unless I'm very much mistaken. Anyone played Beast Rider the remake from a couple of years ago? Got bad reviews but might be worth a look now its available cheap.
