Star Wars mods

Okay, that they aren't "lore friendly" is an understatement but after using a few of them exstensively for the past couple of weeks I can say they are extremely fun.

I'm using three mods for Skyrim on PC based on the Star Wars universe:

Magicka Sabers Expanded by aberation:  http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10517

JoO Sith Lightning by JackoO: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11390

Star Wars Force Abilities Mod WIP by avenger86: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7104

The authors are their names on the Steam network and Nexus websites.

First. The Magicka Sabers expanded is exactly what it sounds like, it adds lightsabers to the game craftable at a blacksmith forge. Some are modeled to look like they are made from common materials, firewood, leather, soul gems, etc. There are also models that are extremely accurate representations of specific characters sabers from the Star Wars Universe; Obi Wan, Darth Maul, Vader, Anakin and Luke Sjywalker, Palpatine, Darth Revan... you get the idea. The saber's look amazing. The sound files and effects are from the movie, even the kill animations look like they've been tweeked to work with the mod (no confirmation on that). The character sabers take a few more ingredients to make but are worth it. I'm currently using Dooku's saber and loving it.

Second: the Force Abilities mod is a very well put together set of "spells". They are each an amalgam of speels that already exist in the game that are modified to more closely resemble a jedi or sith force powers. They can be added with console commands or are available for purchase in teh form of holocrons from a couple of vendors (most notibly the keeper of the Arcaneum at Winterhold). There are quite a few force powers available and while most are fairly inacuous there are a couple that are incredibly powerful (and satisfying btw). Force lightning, chain lightning, destruction, push, telekynesis, pyrokenesis, etc. The list is huge. Force push is basically a strong version of the unrelenting force shout but without the downtime to recharge the shout.

Word of caution: If you like your companion DON"T use destruction. It kills EVERYTHING in the blast radius and does not discriminate!!!

Third: JoO Sith Lightning creates a spell available called "Mass Sparks". It's a heavily modified version of a lightning spell that has many more "tendrils" of electricity. While the vanilla version of lightning looks like a controlled bolt "Mass Sparks" looks like an incredible burst of static that arcs across multiple surfaces. Amazing visuals particularly when dual wielded. Even though it duplicates an available spell it is so MUCH more FUN due to the added visuals that you can't possibly NOT get this even if you aren't a Star Wars fan.

While there are plenty of other Star Wars mods out there the vast majority of them only effect the visual environment: added banners and decorations or changing the moons to look like the Death Star or one of the planets from the series, etc. the ones mentioned above are more about interaction and gameplay. And boy do they effect gameplay.

It is HILARIOUS to use the force abilites quick keyed in conjunction with the humming blade of a lightsaber. They are overpowered BUT if you want to feel like a Jedi Master or Dark Lord of the Sith set loose upon the landscape of Tamriel, these three should not be missed.
